I've been working out for a few weeks now, but I have just recently started getting my personal training (a club rule for members under 18) My first personal training session was Thursday, and it is now Saturday. Let's just say that my personal trainer pushed me to my MAX. This has been the first time that I have experienced DOMS this bad, as my muscles are still very sore today.

We worked out the entire body on Thursday because the first couple sessions are supposed to be an introduction to the machines and different excercises (which kindof sucks).

Today my upperbody including pecs, bi's, tri's and delt's are extremely sore because my upperbody is weak. My legs however are not very sore, my thighs feel a little tired but no real pain.

Today is Saturday and because it is Easter weekend, the gym will be closed Sunday and Monday and I don't want to break my routine for 4 days.

So would you suggest I go to the gym today despite a little soreness, or should I just take the weekend off and not risk it?

EDIT: I will be working out legs today, if I go to the gym.

A little soreness, or a lot of soreness? Your body can tell the difference whether you can move a muscle or if you're just experiencing some discomfort. Generally, if you're feeling just a tad bit sore, that'll all disappear by the time you're done warming up. In any case, it's better to get at least some light weight, high reps going on in area of soreness to get the blood to get through there again. In football, we always used to have practice on Saturday mornings after a Friday night game. It was about 10 laps around the football field, and this was just so that we could get the stiffness out of our legs. It helps the recuperating process faster.

However, if you're really DEAD SORE (be honest now), best bet is to just hit the jacuzzi.

It seems like your legs are fine though. Work 'em up, and stay focused!

Thanks Cruise

I hit the gym today and after a longer warm-up and some stretching my legs were feeling great

Now I've got a couple days off to rest up and maybe have a few sweets.

Back at it on Tuesday :box:
