I'm 5'10, 170 lbs. Low BF% and I'm looking to tighten/build every muscle in my body. I cannot get bulky (modeling) so I'm asking your opinion on a good weight that I should be working towards for each exercise that will maximize definition and limit bulk. I'd appreciate any other advice/exercises you want to give.

Curls: 45 lbs 10 reps
Hammer Curls: 40 lbs 10 reps
Dumbbell Shoulder Press: 45 lbs 10 reps
One Arm Dumbbell Rows:45 lbs 10 reps
Front Raises: 25 lbs 10 reps (2 sets)
Bench Press: 90 lbs 10 reps
Wide Grip Chins: 10 reps
Squats: 160 lbs 10 reps
Leg/Toe Press: 210 lbs 10 reps
Incline situps: 35 lbs 20 reps (2 sets)

you're going to improve definition by eating better and doing more cardio. The workout looks fine, although I'm confused by the weights you put down for each lift. Are most of them for dumbells? The thing that stands out is bench and squats - is the 90lbs for bench dumbells? If so, your squat seems really low for the other weight you're doing, so quit neglecting your legs. If by 90lbs you mean 45 in each arm, then you can make a lot of gains in your lifts without gaining too much bulk. Clear that up for me and I'll try to give you more advice.

You should do about 4-8 reps for every lift (6-8 for the first rep)..so you start with a certain weight at 6 reps for the first rep and when you can do 8 for the first rep you add some more weight.

You're not gonna get too bulky..thats not gonna happen cause you aint gonna put on mad amounts of muscle in just a few months or whateva. You'll probably have to invest like 2 or 3 years to get where u want to get. You will realize if ure about to get too bulky before its gonna happen...btw the only difference between a bodybuilder type of body and a well built body is that the bodybuilder type of guy has more muscle mass.

The first four exercises are dumbells and your right on about my bench and squat. The 90 lbs is on the bar and I know it's too light, what do you think I should be putting on there? Same thing with my squats, it's way to light, I'd appreciate your opinion on weight here also.

To madgame:
This is exactly how I started out until I hit the weights I'm currently working with (except for bench and squat). The only reason I stopped was because when I moved up 10 - 15 lbs on each exercise I noticed a large gain in bulk over only one week (my neck especially). This may be due to the amount of protein I eat after my workouts; would cutting back do me any good? or would it prevent me from making any gains?

Also some more knowledge I'd like to get would be on other exercises you've found to elevate appearance that people can immediately take note of.

Thanks for your responses ya pimps.

Nobody can tell you what weights you should be working towards, especially since your goal is more aesthetic. Everybody's body builds differently - personally I can gain strength much easier than I can make my muscles look big. Other people harldy work out and look ripped, but can barely lift any weight. The only way for you to tell is to experiment.

If you gained too much mass in 1 week, you sound like you really don't want to put on much mass at all. You're probably ok doing higher reps like you're doing. Focus on cardio and diet to make yourself look better. Those are the only ways to improve definition without adding bulk. If you want to improve a certain body part (say your chest), then do lower reps on your chest exercise and spend some time doing a bulking routine for that muscle group.

Does that answer your question?

Create self-fulfilling prophecies. Always assume the positive. Assume she likes you. Assume she wants to talk to you. Assume she wants to go out with you. When you think positive, positive things happen.

One more thing - don't depend on your impression of your size when you're deciding how much more/less mass you want. Measure your arms, chest, legs, etc. and use that to figure out how much mass you're actually putting on. Having definition may make your muscles look bigger, even if they're not. Also, compare your size to other guys with the kind of build you want...otherwise you'll end up not getting as big as you should (because you'll have a tendency to think you're bigger than you really are). If one of your friends has arms that are about the size you want, find out how big they are and then shoot for that size.

well if its REALLY light (and 90 lbs is REALLY light..i think i was lifting that in 7th grade, if not sixth), then have you ever considered actually adding weight?

it might seem new to some people, but adding weight is actually a GOOD THING. if its too light, then you want to add weight. its as simple as that. now i dont mean add a hundred pounds. add as much weight as you can so that you can do any more than 8-9 reps.
