Hi guys,
I've been lifting weights (dumbbells) for the first time recently and have been working out pretty hardcore...from a wussy 5kg per arm i've made it to 12kg per arm (and still progressing :) )

For example..when i'm working out with dumbbells and Iam holding on tight and doing my exercises...the nerves on the end of my palms start to tingle....

could this mean I need to take a break/lifting too heavy weights?

Also how many hours a day should I work out...?

At the moment I am working out as much as I can...
almost an hour a day...
doing repeated reps with
-curls
-concentration curls
-hammer curls

been working out for about 3 weeks ,,

Dont grip the weights hard. Firm-ish but thats it.

It could be so many things, but it's nothing you really need to worry about. If it keeps on going for a long time or gets worse, see the doc if you're really that bothered about it. It's not something I could really pin down without seeing how you do things etc

By the sounds of it you're only working your arms. Work your entire body. Do some dips, pull ups [narrow and wide grip], Squats [with some weight on you] etc.

You get a much better work out with a bench and barbell, or even better, a proper gym.

yes I am working out at home..
and yes I am only working my arms at this stage (I want big biceps!)

I think I need to slow it down a bit now....
work the rest of my body like you guys said ....

hopefully the tingling sensations i get sometimes will go away this way .....

I think not having proper bench etc is to blame...
thinking of it .. due to incorrect posture I exert too much pressure on my wrist area when I sit down and do curls whilst watching tv....

As a sidenote, big bi's and small tri's actually makes me boom out with laughter, because they look that damn silly :)

Whole body workouts change your entire mindset, or atleast thats my own personal experience :)

good luck with the training
