Totally true. Plus a good hairstylist, good lighting, and good photography can make anyone look, if not glamorous, at least arty. When I was a kid, my father did some professional photography (really high quality stuff). He made everyone look beautiful or, for those with atypical proportions, visually striking. And I still use some of the tricks I picked up during a brief modeling stint 30 some years ago. Even now, I can look much "hotter" than I really am, though it takes more effort than I usually care for.

Anyone who reads this page can look good with the right tools and attitude. Some people can look fantastic without any help, but they are the very lucky few.

We all know that makeup makes a big difference for some girls, not as much for others. With celebrities and perfect lighting, hair, and makeup, the difference will be greater. You also have to factor in that obviously these pictures are taken in completely different circumstances on different days, some of these with many years separating the times they were taken as well. There's also the factor of photoshop for any magazine spreads (some of those were touched up far too much).

In any case, I prefer a natural beauty and someone that will look good in all conditions rather than once in a while. I knew a girl my sophomore year that looked amazing on the weekends, tight dresses, enough makeup to make her very easy on the eyes. During the week though it was pajamas/sweatpants, no makeup, glasses, etc. It was a truly remarkable polarity.

All this being said, if you're just having sex with a girl and then being on your way, the only thing that matters is how she looks that night, makeup or not.

Most of those shots have been taken when the women look their absolute worst. They have taken random shots that make those women look average and then put them next to glamor shots to make the effect look even worse.

It's a bit more complicated than that.

The effect of makeup on a girl depends on her facial structure. If her facial structure is off by a lot, then of course, no amount of makeup is going to save her.

Most average girls have really plain features overall (instead of one part of the face that is glaringly ugly) - in that situation makeup will do wonders.

From my experience, makeup (especially if done by a girl with expertise) can improve the average girl's appearance by 2 - 3 points.

I like a girl who uses makeup - since that way she can create different *looks* - variety is the spice of life
