Women intimidated by intelligence?

I'll probably get flamed by some just by asking this question but for some time now I've been finding it to be mostly true. Women swear that men are the ones afraid of intelligent women but I believe it's the females who feel threatened. Why is this?

After many years of GIRL POWER and getting built up as the more intelligent gender, chicks are terrified of men who make them look dumb. Men OTOH don't mind it so much as it's socially acceptable nowadays for a guy to appear dumber than his girl.

I don't think women are intimidated by intelligence.


I think intelligent people understand each other better. They have more in common generally not always.

It has nothing to do with being intelligent ore not. It has to do with the ability to relate to the woman to create a connection.

Intellilgent men can't relate to the general populace[in manycases]. It is the lack of social intelligence that is the problem.BUT, when you are 40 IQ points above them, you need to "dumb down" your conversation-does the average person talk smart with the retarded table washer in the mall, or dumb it down? Unless you are trying to beat it into them all the time that you are smarter then they are[don't like it when a woman tries it with me,they don't like it either], it isn't a problem. It should be an additional plus for you.

BUT NEVER talk about what you learn here, it can be used,but never discussed-you'll just piss them off.

Yes and no. Yes because no one like its when a person is talking over their head. No because there are women out there who actually like a guy who is intelligent since he can usually figure out stuff that gets them out of tight situations. The thing is not to rely on your intellect as an attraction; rely on the use of it to create attraction.

I like intelligent, opinionated men. Its good to have your mind stimulated by the same person stimulating your body. Just dont expect opinions to agree.

i think alot of people are overestimating how "smart" they really are.

I seriously doubt everyone here is "vastly" superior as far as intelligence to the general population.

I am conidered to be pretty darn smart and I have an IQ of 134. That's a little above avg but it's not anywhre near these 40 points higher than the general poplation, etc.

I by no means think I'm the most intelligent person here, but I'm not chopped liver either.


Also smart is relaitve. If you have an "IQ" of 150, and you work at wendy's and live with mom, just "smart" are you?

Being able to predict the next number in a sequence or predict the next triangle that will be shaded has little to do with real world intelligence. Has little to do with matuity, patience, understanding, social skills, work ethic, persistance, etc

abstract intelligence?
emotional intelligence?
common sense?
level of education?
