This weekend I completely shattered my AFC shell with a passion as I was unhappy with my social life and wanted more new interactions with new people.

So I went out with a buddy this past Sunday and ended up asking 2 girls for their numbers and succeeded to a point I didn't even expect. I made sure to build proper rapport (15 mins with the 1st and 60 mins with the 2nd) and be nice, but I made sure they knew that I wasn't the AFC nice guy that they are use to seeing. Here are some excerpts:

------------------------------------------
18 yr - HB 8 - Restaurant Hostess
------------------------------------------
I made my initial interaction as she sat us down. I kept talking to her so she didn't immediately return to the front like most customers. I just asked her about how busy it was and got her name.

I noticed that the place was dead so she was up in the front doing nothing. I took this opportunity to converse on my way to the bar or bathroom and she appreciated it.

On my way out this is the jist of the conversation:

BB - "It was a pleasure meeting you and hopefully next time i swing buy you'll be a waitress"

Her - "I doubt it"

BB - "Why's not?"

Her - "I wouldn't really like to be a waitress at a place like this"

BB - "Why? Is it because you wouldn't want to deal with *******s that want their drinks refilled all the time?" (Making it obvious i was talking about me"

Her - "Ya"

BB - "So that means your calling me an *******?" (Look of playful shock)

Her - "No, you you did all by yourself"

Me - "I guess that's true...I'm anything but a nice guy"

She begins laughing a little

Me - "So why don't you give me your number and I'll make sure to invite you to my birthday party (i'm turning 22) and hey we could even do something before then"

Her - "Sounds great!" (Writes number down)

I'm outta there!

21 yr - HB 9 - College Student @ Starbucks
------------------------------------------
After we went eating I headed over to starbucks. I was talking to my buddy that the other girl might meet me after she gets done working. I joke saying that I wish I could find a taller girl (I'm 6'9"). Just as i finish i see a tall blonde walking in. I point her out to my buddy but forget about her since I was kinda waiting to see if the Hostess was gonna show.

After a few mins my buddy goes in to get some coffee and i follow. As we get to the front I notice that the blonde is sitting all by herself at a table for two studying chem. I tap my bud on the shoulder and say "Watch this" then immediately head over to her.

To break the ice I asked her how tall she was and if she played basketball jokingly because that's what people ALWAYS ask me. I then ask her if she's busy and she tells me to join her. We talk for awhile and then my friend and a group of the starbuck lackies join....GREEEEAT. They immediately kill the progress I was making with their conversational topics such as "The Matrix" "Lord of the Rings" and video games. Finally they close our section to clean so we have an easy exit. Since the place is packed and it's cold out she offers a seat in her car.

We were earlier joking with the group about 2 gay guys we thought went to a car and were giving head to one another. So while i'm in the car my buddy walks out obviously looking for me and I put my arm around the girl press my face against hers and smile just as he notices. Just to joke around I then lower my head to her crotch and when i get back I see him both shocked, amused and laughing. (All of that is kino baby!)

Anyways when he goes back I point out how out of place he looks and how he isn't trying to chat up any of the women even though we know he wants to. I make a comment about the fact that he's a "nice guy" and that's why i think he's having such a hard time.

Her - "I've dated a few guys that are nice, but they just don't keep me intrested."

Me - "Totally! Nice guys are nothing but emotional tampons."

Her - Laughter "Well I never thought of it that way but I'd have to agree"

Me - "Good thing you I'm anything but a nice guy"

Her - Smiles slyly "Exactly how i like them"

We chatted a little more, she asked me if i wanted her number before i asked for it, and before she left I got a kiss close.

----------------------------------------------

A few things I would like to make known.

1) I know i used the same exact phrase "I'm anything but a nice guy" both times and I normally wouldn't but I wanted to be blunt and see exactly what the reaction was.

2) All the girls I talked with (above two and a few waitresses) knew I wasn't a nice guy AFC and gave me TONS of attention.

3) I had 100% success tonight when going for numbers and even got a kiss close which was a personal best

4) Being an jerk/******* doesn't mean using nothing but backhanded compliments and acting like their a spermrecepticle. I listened to what they said, I seemed intrested, but they all knew that I was a busy man and my time was valuable. Because of this they were approaching me to keep a conversation going because I would leave them before they had enough of me. I would make jokes about them, or say something a little rude, but it was in a light and joking manner.

5) Being blunt is a good thing. Being blunt when you try to use neg-hits, or show your inner ******* is NOT! You need to get rapport with the girl before you try to be a jerk.

Finally a HUGE realization.

I noticed that "being a jerk" is labeled incorrectly as people mean it for both complete ****s and DJS.

A Complete Jerk

- Doesn't care about the feelings of those around him
- Is completely selfish
- Will say whatever he feels reguardless of the reaction or situation

A Don Juan

- Is truly intrested or curious about the person
- Puts himself first but does so while not seeming that way
- Says things when appropiate and when saying something negative does so is a light, joking or not 100% blunt manner.

yo dude, good post.. but ignored everything but the last paragraph about the compare/contrast of jerk and dj. Keep it short dude.... and being a jerk once in awhile is not going to make the girl all angry or scared. I turn on my jerk mode once in awhile to let the girl.. not all's comfy and nice in the relationship. Girls do this crap too by being in ***** mode once awhile.

Good post, I actually read the whole thing :p

I'll add one thing about being a DJ. A DJ makes the other person feel as good about herself as a DJ feels about himself.

Just something to consider...

Fransisco has a point about a DJ being a person that makes another person (hopefully a girl) feel good.

But the thing is, girls don't respond to things that they didn't "earn", i.e. things that they didn't change to achieve a result. Sure, gifts and immediate attention make her feel good. Actually, 'okay' would be a better word. It doesn't make her GLOW, though.

For example, your getting her a nice pair of earrings for no reason, might make her smile at first, but she'll prob end up throwing em in the jewel box with all the other useless baubles. And with that, her regard for you (that she attached to those earrings) would end locked up in that box and ignored with the earrings themselves. That's because she didn't "work for it" or earn it.

Now, if you end up treating her with respect and kindness after weeks of paying her minimal attention and generally treating her like dirt, she will think that SHE changed you into something better, and thus appreciate you more. Of course, she'll have no idea that you, the DJ was manipulating her from the beginning by rationing our the attention. :)

Hope that simplified things a bit.
