Why does PUA dating advice exist if the alpha male doesnt care?

Hey guys
I've been reading through the posts here and a few had me confused. I know many sites advise men that women should only be the icing on the cake, the alpha male doesn't care if the woman likes him, he is happy without a woman and doesn't care for one.

I also understand why a demeanor like that would be attractive to a woman, the less you care the more valuable you appear and create interest as to why you are so independent and strong. A man happy without a woman seems to have strength which inadvertently draws her in.

But my question is that then if men are not supposed to care if women like them or not then why do we care about everything else and have sites like this to try and change ourselves if we are not supposed to care.

A guy who doesn't care about women would sit at home and say "fu*ck it" or be outside and not really care about women and checking them out. HE could go years without having a woman and since he is alpha he doesnt care, he's happy doing xyz.

So I guess my question is how can we not care when we really do care?

Well, it's a bit of a contradiction/paradox. But:

First off, alphas don't have to care about women, because they're always going to have women attracted to them anyway. Their not caring is probably at least partly a result of their being alpha to being with - they are assured of an abundance. I've seen this from observing natural alphas.

Pickup teaches you to not care about the outcome with any one particular woman. If one doesn't like you, another one will, that's the attitude. That's abundance mentality. This allows you to go out and play the numbers game and not get butthurt over rejections.

If you care too much about getting women, you start to reek of desperation and neediness, which is a turnoff. So you have to come in with a more casual attitude. But everybody cares about getting women, really. If not, they would just give up, like you say.
