Why do you have a moderator's corner?

Come on... what do you guys have in there that you don't want the rest of us to see?

I think the mod forum should be opened to us on a read-only basis, like how the Archive forum is reply-only. I feel that we have the right to at least see what you guys have in there.

Ever since we got the PM system in the forum upgrade, I think that that makes the Moderator's corner a little redundant, as you can PM anything of signifigant privacy without anyone else being the wiser.

So it won't display the mods' bias towards everyone else. There's threads in there about the status of the board, who we think are trolls, and votes on whether or not someone should be banned. It's about the only place you'll see Allen around.

If we were to see that they were peeved at us, we would stop being rude, then they couldn't catch us and ban us. That is where they derive their PLEASURE!

I think some of the moderators are quite vociferous with their biases towards others. *COUGH*DeLaSoul*AHEM* Excuse me. :p

The moderators are under the impression that they're both users and moderators... Super Users if you will. It shouldn't be that way. They're moderators and they should be willing to perform their duty.

Page Allen can still see what you PM to other users by taking a look at the MySQL database. Ah, those were the days... ;)

Well, yeah, I would expect that, considering that he owns the site and all. :) I have nothing to hide, so it really makes no difference. The only time I use PM is when I want to talk to only one particular member about something.

Soshyopathe: we know about the status of the board (e.g. the good old days are long gone and the board is slowly going to hell :) ) , we have a pretty good idea about who's a troll (b/c trolls tend to be the people who go around and make total asses out of themselves and in the long run piss us all off -- in short, rather easy to spot) , and we as members should also be able to have a say in who gets banned. (hell, most of us are Americans, so it's our tradition to bytch about who's in charge :) ) I remember that the banning of that rebelde guy was pretty controversial, and it possibly might have been much easier if everyone had some true influence on the outcome of the problem. True, we can have our say in the other forums, and even vote by posting a poll, but that doesn't make the mods necessarily give a shyt about it. If we could have some true voting power, then possibly controversial issues may be smoothly decided by majority rule than by the opinions of a few mods.

Also, if we could see what the mods are talking about, it may help some renegade members to straighten up and fly right, or so to speak. I feel that if the mods are talking about banning anyone, then the person in question has a right to know that the mods are considering having them banned.

I PM'd Allen earlier about getting bigger Inboxes and an extended limit on posts. Oh, I'd pay to have a bigger inbox and an extended limit on characters in posts. :) I've been trying to contact livin large and DIESEL but they don't know how to manage their account. :(
