Why do women prefer dark haired men?

First let me state that this is not really a whine or complaint, I don't think that is has serciously effected my dating, but being a blond haired Scandanavian-American it still bugs me a little. Just a simple question- Why is it that women, if they have a preference at all for a complexion, always state they prefer men with dark hair, and almost never do they say they prefer a guy with blonde hair? I have noticed this especially when I read online personals.

I understand some people prefer certain things, guys included. In this case, however, the preference is not an even one, in fact is is as much uneven as women stating they prefer tall guys to short ones.

How The Human Mind Works...

Thats the same as saying " why do men prefer women that are blonde and have blue eye's"

Its a generalization which is so comminly used, that people are led to believe it and thik that its true for THEMSELVES too... Its all a mind game in a sence.. Its like if you are told something is true over and over again, and u hear it all the time, eventually you will be led to get sucked in and believe it...

And just like men dont want a short sh!t girl, its the same with women, they want a big, tall, musculine guy that will be able to "protect" them etc... its common sence.

And by the way.... women where i come from DO like blonde me, but for the same reason as they like dark haired men, because of that generalization of " long blonde haired surfer dudes are so hot", so women will all start thinking its true and think that surfer dudes with long blonde hair are hot, when before when they saw surfer dudes with long blonde hair it would just be another guy to them.

I'll use another example in case you dont understand what i am saying.... Take yoyo's for example... if all your friends at school didnt go anf buy a yoyo and play with it etc, then u probably wouldnty of, and you probalby wouldt of thought much of playing with a yoyo, but since everyone else thinks yoyo's are klewl and they all play with it, then u will also get a yoyo, and you will also play with it....

Depends for instance if you went to Spain or Italy or even parts of Asia..your blonde looks would be considered a novelty. The women would probably be on you like a rash.

I reckon if went to Scandanavian I'd have all these blonde women checking me out (being tallish and dark myself)...

A work colleague of mine is of asian origin with a pony tail. He went to Finland and walked into this bar. These women started crowding round him touching his hair because they had never seen an asian with a pony tail.

no girl will reject you because of the colour of ur hair if its a natural colour (dye it pink, and maybe some will?) -red heads with very fair skin, sorry, you could be an exception. but it would be as much to do with the fair skin, and most likely red freckles etc as the actual hair. that beind said, i know many good looking red heads, so keep ur chin up.

here in italy the beauty model is the aryan one (dunno how it spells, the one promoted by nazi propaganda in the 30s): blue eyes, fair skin, blonde. but in reality women always say they look for a blue-eyed dark-haired man. women r strange

Tall, dark, handsome is equated with brooding, thoughtfulness and smouldering. Blonde is equated with young, hip and childish.

Not a biggy, most people have mousy brown hair. I have very light coloured hair that sun bleaches and some chicks love it. I recently went dark and MORE women love that. Who knows, its to do with the mental trigger...

TALL, is more important physically to any woman. Women dont like being taller than their man. I have had many women say that they would rather be a man than a women, but only if they were tall.

Same reason we like petite little things, we equate it with femaninity, short men are not equated with masculinity.

I would hate to be short, I really would.

There is a psychological effect of blond and dark haired.

I remember watching a dateline episode where they had experimented a man and a woman. ONE scenario where they both had blond hair and were in different locations asking for directions in the middle of the street. The blond girl got easy help and was hit on more often, she had guys # close on her.

dont ask about the blond guy...i dont remember too well...but if memory serves, he barely got any help.

then the 2nd scenario they dyed their hairs dark brown/black.

the female got less help than before, as the hair gave the idea of her being serious/smart/non slutty/ less playful type of aspect.

dont remember about the guy...i think he got more help this time with his dark hair....

during primitive times a man with dark colored eyes and hair and olive skinned was usually the better hunter/ provider, maybe thats why some women are attracted to dark haired men?

actuly watch how you read he said 1,75cm although you ussualy only use a comma on longer numbers having a comma every 3 digits starting from the right eg 45,345,223 saying 1,75 is the same as saying 175 just you do not ussaly write 1,75 you write 175, that being said, what you where refering to is 1.75 dont mix up , with . oh and get some glasses diablo

Hell, I like my looks but I don't need women to tell me I'm good looking. I may be vain as a peacock saying this but the main reason why people should pay attention to their own looks should be because of themselves.

Why do you even care if you've "got the right haircolour" for certain women?
It's pathetic to discuss what looks women would prefer you guys have.
I see in my mind a bunch of girly-men standing in front of a pink mirror arguing over how much they should pluck their eye-brows!. It's the same sh1t..

And seeing all these posters coming up with pseudo-psychological / evolutional explanations why dark haired men are more attractive - It just oozes of lack of confidence.

You'll notice that as we age our hair and eyes get darker typically

not sure why the features grow darker



young = lighter features

men prefer young fertile females

I used to have my hair highlighted copper/blondish and I never noticed any difference from females. It's all a matter of personal preference. Now I quit it with the highlights and just stick with my black hair (with a few gray hairs in certain places, lol).
