I'm depressed now. I went to visit an old buddy of mine who started complaining about breaking up with his GF because he was cheating on her with 3 or 4 other girls. His constant stories he was telling about this girl and that girl eventually got me feeling insecure enough i felt the need to mention a girl I was 'seeing' which in truth is really just a mutual friend we both know on the internet. He grilled me with questions until that fact came out and now I feel like a complete loser. Why the hell did I mention something like that, which has absolute no bearing of truth in it at all!? Unbelievable.
I am getting very frustrated when all my friends seem to be with a different chick every week and I'm still trying to figure out how to get phone #s
It is so ****ing sad I want to cry.

The best way to catch a fish is to get a decent bait in the vicinity of some fish, then sit very, very quietly and wait....

You are in effect trying to catch fish, but you are running out into the river, then thrashing and swimming in an attempt to catch them barehanded. Since fish can swim faster, the quicker you move, the quicker they move.

Calm yourself.

Make sure you dress well, smile, and have a nice personality. Have interests in life that could potentially include others*, then happily pursue them. As with a fishing expedition, you'll find that your clothing, smile, nice personality and true personal pursuits are like that luscious worm on the end of a hook is to a hungry fish, and it will lure women the same way.

Relax, keep quiet about yourself and let them come to you. They will.

*interests could be music, hiking, collecting vintage albums, astronomy or any of a million things. Scoring 1,000,000 points on a video game, or watching porn for hours are not considered good 'bait' pursuits. But you knew that.

Great fish analogy RKTek. I might have to borrow it sometime.

I agree with RKTek.
Whenever you chase something, it's going to run. I tell this to a buddy every time he b!t*hes about not getting laid or meeting anybody..
and remember.. don't talk about yourself.. ask questions about her.. when you are in that position to meet someone. This way you won't have to worry about back-pedaling to cover a 'not so true' comment.
