Why Americans hate Mexicans?

You and I don't hate Mexicans, right? But that doesn't mean that the majority of Americans, or a big deal of us, hate Mexicans!!


I understood the scope of this only recently. There is this online game I play at work to kill time, and I changed my name to Mexican something. All the hate I got for nothing.


It is a fact, Americans hate Mexicans. It's in the news, it's in the politics, it's everywhere. Even in video games that children and adults play. Turn it onto the FOX NEWS channel.


Why?


Illegal immigrants? Well, there are illegal immigrants who are Irish, British, Columbian, Brazilian, Russian, German, Slovak, pretty much every country in the world. Thus, it's not their immigration status, whether they are legal or illegal.


Maybe it's because they represent the majority of illegal immigrants in this country? Maybe it's because they get the biggest publicity?


It's probably two of those things. Though, if they were model citizens they won't be getting negative publicity.


The problem, with Americans hating Mexicans, is in my opinion, that they make them selfs the lowest common denominator. They subjugate them selfs to Joe Shmoe Nobody. They end up - or start out - doing crappy jobs and they are willing to work for next to nothing. In other words, their self worth is so low that we simply don't respect them.


Of course, in their world, that next to nothing is a lot of money. However, in our world, and with our values, we view them as sub human.

They're willing to do the sh!t we won't touch or find demeaning. This is a double edged sword for mexican people. It gets them work, LOTS of work, but also minimizes thier self worth in the eyes of America.

I live in Central Florida where the immigrant mexican population is soaring over any other. They provide 99.999% of the labor to pick the fruit that we love so dearly. They bust thier ass for absolutely nothing. They get paid $10 a day or some ridiculous amount. But at the flea markets they've got the stores cornered with all kinds of "trick your truck" shops.

If it wasn't for Mexicans orange juice would be $14 a gallon and soft taco supremes would be only a glimmer in this fat mans eyes.

Depends on the channel. Black on BET. White on Russian TV. Whiter on Irish TV. Jewish on FOX and CNN. Do Semenols have TV channel? If yes, then red on Semenole TV.

The only reason BET, blacks and some Mexicans exist in Hollywood is because people would scream Affirmative Action. If it wasn't for that, all colored people would still be hated today just as they were back then. Dont get me wrong, i have nothing against whites, i know a lot of good people that are white...but im just telling it like it is.

If you're a Mexican immigrant or an ASIAN MAN you get portrayed as the weak lower class...they'll take the woman though..maybe even brainwash some of them to think their own race svcks...(unfortunately there are some girls like that)

I live in California and in a predominantly Mexican area. I don't hate them but I don't like them that much. But I love the hot young Mexican girls.

One thing I do hate is seeing Mexicans display their flag on American soil. That is a huge insult.

guess what?? we are ALL IMMIGRANT'S in this country!! But the white man runs it...he runs the whole country. If youre WHITE...be happy, you have the most potential and opportunity to be successful.

I was born and raised in chicago and live here to this day. I have known plenty of mexicans and I can say that the majority are pretty good people, but that being said I rather live in a white neighborhood.

It's simply because we have chosen to see people as groups rather than the individuals that they are.

I think it's for a variety of reasons, but mostly because it's a large population of uneducated (as in mostly illiterate, not mostly unfamiliar with Shakespeare) non-English speakers with different social customs.

For instance, when the Irish, Italians, Russians etc came or come to this country you didn't start seeing 2nd and 3rd generations speaking the old tongue as the first language. You didn't see pressure to print at public cost government forms, street signs and other things in Italian. Those immigrants adapted.

Mexicans seem to have a habit of hanging out in groups in the various business sections of town. I have been told by friends who were Mexican that this is a common thing, to gather in social groups like this, in Mexico after it cools off in the evening. It just makes people here wonder WTF is going on.

And so on.

Personally I'm in favor of letting anyone (non-criminal) in who wants in and expect them to support themselves, but that would require reform and power shifts that will never happen.

I would rather deal with Mexicans than a lot of other groups of people, I'll tell you that.

They tend to be humble, I never see them causing trouble, and as Karma said they bust their asses.

I don't think most Americans hate Mexicans. I mean there's no such thing as a Ku Klux Klan that targets just Mexicans or anything like that. I think what happens is that Mexicans have had their image tarnished by the illegal immigration issue. You say there's illegals from many countries, which is true, but the fact is the huge percentage of illegal immigration is from Mexico. Yeah, there's a couple illegals from New Zealand or Ireland, but as a percentage they are very small in comparison to how many from Mexica which is well over 10 million Mexicans living in the U.S. illegally. Bigger than the population of even New York City. You don't have illegals from any other country here in numbers anything close to that.

Most Americans don't like the idea of people pouring across the border without permission, so yeah, it ends up tarnishing the image of the group. Then there are the images people see on the news from places like Los Angeles with illegal immigrants marching down the street protesting and waving Mexican flags that further pisses people off. And then you have the gang problems spreading across the country with gangs like MS-13(yeah they are El Salvadorean, but to most people they just see them as coming from south of the border period). Then on top of that, there is anger because many people feel that cheap labor from Mexico is undercutting wages in the U.S. Some say that they're doing jobs Americans refuse. That's not true, there are many jobs that used to pay Americans good wages, but now pay sh*t wages because they can get illegals to do them for next to nothing. Things like construction jobs, slaughterhouses, meat packing, furniture movers, drywallers, painters. Now they want to bring Mexican trucks in the country threatening one of the last high paying jobs that low skill Americans could have, truck driving.

I hate racism and bigotry, so I don't believe it's right to hate anybody because of what country they come from, so I'm not saying any of the stuff above is a justification for hating Mexicans. I'm just saying that's where I think the negative attitudes come from. Because I don't see those attitudes to other Latino groups. Nobody seems to hate Cubans or Puerto Ricans or Brazilians or Chileans. I think whenever you have a huge number of a country's poor underclass showing up, people are not going to like it. If the poorest of Americans started moving to Canada illegally by the millions, Canadians would start to get negative feelings about it. Put it this way, if millions of dirt poor Hatians start immigrating to Mexico by the millions, I guarantee you Mexicans would be pissed off and want to do something about it. Especially if their population were starting to grow at a rapid rate and signs were going up everywhere in Hatian Creole language and people were speaking it everywhere in the streets and they were waving Hatian flags, and undercutting Mexican wages. I guarantee you Mexicans would hate them for it and would want them booted out of the country if they were in Mexico illegally. Americans are no different.

Oh by the way.. This spot light on illegal immigration started not by Mexicans crossing our southern border in great numbers.. Nooooo.. That had nothing to do with that for decades.. 911 had nothing to do with that either.. It started with a large group of Irish illegal immigrants in New York city, protesting and asking to be legalized.. That brough the spot light on Mexicans..

Because we can't hate Irish. Right?
