So it looks like another disaterous hurricane is going to hit the gulf coast and perhaps send the gas prices on a major skyrocket! Perhaps I really should go invest in a bike right now. I surely hope that this hurricane doesn't cause devastating damage to that state or the gas prices.

What happens, IN HER MIND, is that she comes to see you as WORTHLESS simply because she hasn't had to INVEST anything in you in order to get you or to keep you.

You were an interesting diversion while she had nothing else to do. But now that someone a little more valuable has come along, someone who expects her to treat him very well, she'll have no problem at all dropping you or demoting you to lowly "friendship" status.

well get ready to walk. I've been walking to the gym for the last couple of months and i no longer go "out for a drive". Too bad the winter is coming, i would have bought a bike and took the back roads to work.....

Take public transport.

If you live in the country or in some crap country without public transport, ride a horse. If the government restricts horses from the roads, bash up the president!

Just picked up an older (83) Diesel Benz for $1,200

40 MPG, but it is slower than hell.

Still makes a good Daily Driver though, especially if gas continues to go up.

Made a 180 mile round trip today, and the gas gauge barely budged.

I take it that you don't drive...

If you did, you would be out there wanting to crucify the oil companies just like everyone else. (Especially where I live-- In California, we don't even get our oil from the gulf due to our clean-air special blend fuel, so price gouging is the only explanation for price hikes.)

Actually, the problem in CA is all the enviromental regs which require special blends.

I just bought an older Benz that runs on Diesel and was surprised that Diesel fuel is the most expensive type of fuel, when it use to be the least expensive.

I did some investigation and found out it was due to all the enviro regs.

Maybe I'll convert it to run on Vegetable oil like the hippies are doing.

Older Mercedes Benz vehicles rule.........they are soooo reliable! I own a new benz and an older one and let me tell you, the 1990 E300 is still running strong.
I have had it for years and i have put $0 into it..........knock on wood.

WHat model is it?

Slower than all hell, but at least it has the 4-spd.

Getting almost 40MPG highway right now.

290K on the clock

The old Diesel MBZ's run forever.
