Here's an excerpt article talking about Style's new book, from the same magazine that made out Tyler Durden to be a bit of an asshat. Bear in mind this was written by a woman.

Maybe people who have read the book would like to comment on the attacks on its content.
The article was funny to read, but got me thinking...who really has the power, the (proper) DJ or the women?

This week's hot topic is the imminent publication of The Game, a book described as the ultimate seduction manual for men. It's author, the self-styled pulling expert Neil Strauss, claims that no female is off limits, providing you stick to his tips. And, hilariously, people are taking him seriously. They actually believe that memorising some half-baked mind games can turn a Jimmy Five Bellies into a Colin Farrell. What is even more ludicrous is that men are the ones doing the seducing in the first place. You want to grab Strauss by the designer lapels and shout: "Wakey, wakey!" Men don't do the choosing: we do. If you wanted to write a book, why didn't you call it "Listen, they have all the power, but if it makes you feel any better, here are some lousy tips on chat-up lines and grooming products"? The fact that men like Strauss are still convinced they are in control only goes to show how good women are at the job of getting our men - and preserving their illusions at the same time...
...What the Strausses of this world are incapable of grasping is that ordinary girls, with not so much as a black basque to their name, are all playing some version of the pick-up game, and playing to win. There's the Kate Moss school: "I just like to party, though I will end up with a rock star at the end of the evening." There's the Emily Mortimer school: "I am dippy and flaky, and don't have a plan, though I will end up with the hottest young actor at the end of the evening." Then there's the Kimberly Fortier school: "I'm a velvert-hairband-wearing career person with networking on my mind, though..." You pick a woman who looks as if she's waiting helpessly to be plucked from obscurity, and I'll show you a man-eater with a mission. Good luck to anyone trying out the Strauss plan - we know your game, but ours is locked in our DNA, and, frankly, you don't stand a chance.
