I wrote something similar to this topic 2 weeks ago on my blog.

The only thing I watch on TV are political/economical talk-shows and football matches. I did watch a football match 10 minutes ago and at half time I browsed a few music channels like MTV and such.

Amazing how every girl that sung was half (who am I kidding?), almost completely naked and kept moving her ass around in front of the camera, Beyonce and Fergie are just 2 that I remember.

Don’t get me wrong, I like a great female ass to swing around in front of me but it kind of cuts down from the artistical value of today’s music. I mean the 1930-1950's had big band swing (which I listen to all the time as well as Frank Sinatra and Rat Pack).
Mid-late 1950's - rockabilly
1960's to the 70's - Rock and Roll
1980's - to some extent punk rock and ska
1990's - neo-swing (alright started in the late 1980's too)
