yeah the symbol is used in three, known to me ,different cultures , hindi culture :meant for piece and harmony or sumthing , neo-nazis :used as a symbol for their ideals of basicly hate and racisme , and nordic culture: where it was used as a sybol of good and the sun...

BUT , in todays society that symbol has been only viewed as the neo-nazis ideals symbol , and i think that people in todays society use that symbol under the knowledge that they know it is a representation (unfortunately) of neo-nazisme...and spin it into the whole idea "hey it was a symbol of good before hitler had anything to do with it , but even though i support his beliefs, its still a sign of ancient nordic arian race tribute not the sign of the ideals of nazis...." wich imo is bull**** .... the female in that movie clearly understood the meaning nad representation of that symbol as she showed it to the camera , it wasent the representation of good nordic symbol , it was a representation of hate and racisme and nazisme....

its the same with showing the finger , before when it was invented it was for the purpose of showing the french that they could not defeat the englishmen , as when englishmen were taken prisoners the french would cut off the two middle fingers making theyr abitlity to hold a sword or use a bow really difficult or not possible...
so to show the french that the englishmen were not going to take it, they raised BOTH of their middle fingers as a sign.... a sign of taunting em ... eventually the two fingers became one and the meaning of that sign changed , its is now viewd as a sign of "go fu\ck yourself"... does it make it okey to go around showing the finger saying "hey it used to be a sign to show our determination and strength" it doesnt work that way anymore , the swastika has been mutilated by the ideals of racists and nazists to the point where the sign itself is a representation of hate to many almost all people... knowingly using it while having the knowledge of what it represents ,even if it represented somethign else before , is wrong imo...

Now based on what she says, It doesnt seem as if she is connecting the swastika with racism... Although one does not see any other symbols or runes around her house so your speculation is correct as far as we can tell.

It really upsets me that I have to cover up a few of my tattoos because of how people connect certain ancestry symbolism with Nazi symbolism.

The Nazis used quite a few older nordic symbols and runes, major ones, and sacred ones.
