Soccer man. You gotta have skills, and have cross country like stamina.

I agree, gymnastics is actually the king of sports and the foundation for such extreme versions like parkour where people do the craziest athletic feats imaginable. If you look at the top parkour guys like "founder" David Belle...they are all accomplished gymnasts who simply adapted their skills to the streets.

Any other athlete attempting these feats, like doing flips off 2-story buildings, would kill himself instantly. You have to have a high level of skill, coordination and fitness to even do the basic moves in this sport...without getting seriously hurt.

You can't say that for other sports.

Wrestling.

Wrestling was not one of the choices and already garners enough respect.

Although wrestlers in high school probably get teased for rolling around with other guys on a mat. (I got made fun of by some friends). Those guys have my respect though, they are GLADIATORS.

I'm a varsity baseball player and I only get little respect... pretty funny cuz I bet 90% of the school would sh*t their pants if they had to stand and try to hit a 80-90 MPH fast ball or try to catch a 90 MPH line drive or grounder. You also have to deal with constant sh*t talking from everyone while wrestling, golfin and track everyone is QUIET... But I do give respect to wrestling just like MMA you have to be in pretty decent shape to win games.

soccer,

I spent one year in actual training for it and I thought that I was going to die after the first practice.

After running about the first five miles, I stopped feeling my legs. I have mucho maximo respect for anyone that does that for years.

I do love the sport though and wish that I could do it again. now I am starting to learn to ride a bike again.

my school didn't have a swim team, nor a soccer team, nor a gymnastics team.

I paid 150 for fifteen games at an indoor soccer league.

I don't get it.

I paid $150/month for 9 years to swim.

But I don't know why that's relevant.

Here we go:

Toughest sports in high school:

Football
Wrestling
Swimming

If you take the amount of work your body does for swimming (and swimmers lift as well) it is unreal how underrated the sport is.

what about hockey. baseball players get a splinter and there out for the season. football isn't that tough theres a wistle every second. hockeys a real mans sport. the fights, they jump in front of a puck flying at them at 100 mph and if they break something they get it froze and their back on the ice.

Amen. Hockey is the manliest sport on this continent, EASILY, behind football.

Swimming is for pússies though.

credibility means jack to me on a forum. hockey reigns surpreme for toughness. i like football and watching the patriots win last week was an awesome comeback but them jumping onto the field early was a little lame even though they are my fravorite team. props to brady for wheeling in gisele bundchen

Seanchai, what I said for insanity will go double for you. Unless you have trained for competitive swimming you can not open your mouth.

Well from my EXPERIANCE unlike you guys who are ALL TALK and don't know JACK SH*T who should just STFU cuz it's so obvious you don't play COMPETATIVE SPORTS (sry but doesn't include PC games or DDR) the toughest sport is FOOTBALL, RUGBY, MMA (includes wrestling) and hockey. I did COMPETATIVE SWIMMING the training is the hard part cuz it's all mental and since it's not a team sport YOUR in control of everything, but unlike the other 4 sports I mentioned swimming, baseball lol gymnastics (not a sport.... just like NASCAR and Cheerleading) don't have to fight through PAIN they get while playing. Whoever said baseball is for pussies is a joke cuz you haven't gotten hit by a 90 MPH fastball and the only time you sit out is when you have something broken, I get splinters every practice do I cry about it... No... u tool.

Toughest Sports

1. Football/Rugby
2. MMA or Wrestling
3. Hocky or Lacross

Toughest Training

1. Swimming
2. Wrestling
3. Gymnastics

P*ssy Sports

1. Golf (WTF how is this a sport... g*y just like NASCAR and Cheerleadin)
2. Track or xcountry (no physical contact)
3. Soccer (You just kick and chase a ball around... ya it's not TOUGH you get tripped and you get a yellow card...wow that's so manly...)

seanchai was a competitive swimmer for nine years. I myself was an All-American (100 breast) in swimming in high school.

If anything, swimming gets TOO MUCH respect.
