I move into my dorm tomorrow (college, finally), and have to pick my classes soon. For a PE credit they have both "weight training" and "weight training and conditioning." Can I really put on some muscle mass if I'm doing cardio (the class with conditioning) or should I stick to the one without the cardio etc and start a bulking season. I'm a measly 140, 5'8 in case it matters.

Thanks.

Tell us how you want to be, how you want to look, and what your overall goal is. Sort out what you want for yourself, then post again :)

Personally i'd do the conditioning, give me stamina and overall fitness as opposed to strength.

Think about the type of physique your looking for. Watch the olympics and take a good look at the sprinters. Do you want to look like that? Now look at some of the bodybuilders. How about that? Ofcourse, you won't hit the type of body they have for years, but which would you rather work towards?

Interesting you should say that, I've recently decided I want the kind of body the all-around gymnasts have [Male gymnastics of course... although a few weeks with a ***** would be awesome :p]

The only thing is, they always seem to have disproportionately huge biceps o_O

Yeah, those gymnasts are ripped. I wonder what their workout routines are like... or the sprinters routines for that matter. I am aiming for a sprinter-type build.

Sprinters... Regular-ish BBing with plyometrics and wind sprints. Diet is of most importance. They Probably wouldnt bother with isolative movements, but then again, anyone with sense doesnt :D

I want to know about the gymnasts though, I dont actually think they do much weight training... it'd make having impeccable flexability a lot more challenging, fact O_O. I know the rings are damn challenging and would build mass, but crikey, some of those guys - mostly the asians - seem to have my ideal build.

Hey benny... Weight training doesn't necessarily correlate with non-flexibility. Arnold states that in his BB encyclopedia, and has a few pictures of this dude with big ol' legs sitting on his knees and lying on the ground.

Arnold himself had flexibility and grace when he was mr. O, just watch some footage... Perhaps not gymnast style ;) but more than I have.

I know semag :p

In pumping iron right at the start *chuckles* that amused me :D Where the camera pans back and he's stood there doing ballet :D

Also in 'The Unbelieveable' Mr Coleman shows some fairly good leg flexability. But generally speaking, although BB'ers are of a good flexibility, it's not anywhere near gymnast quality :)

I said it would make having near-spot-on flexibility a hell of a lot more difficult, which it would ;)

You've slowed down on the posting around here semag, dont say you're out living life a lot more :p

Don't always be the one putting yourself out for her. Don't always be the one putting all the effort and work into the relationship. Let her, and expect her, to treat you as well as you treat her, and to improve the quality of your life.

Lol - man, you missed out on a huge illusion of major social proof :)

I'm really turning into a keyboard jockey since my stomach problem, summer holiday, injured knee and a mother that needs attention all day. You'll get your place back in 2-3 weeks ;)
