I have a great opportunity being a part of a start up company which I will have some ownership stake in. What makes this so exciting is that it is 100% up to us, the engineers, to make this thing happen. I feel confident that we could be millionaires before age 35 if we do it right - but this is more than about the money. Its about doing something new and challenging outside the safety of a corporate desk job.
We start in one month, but I am already doing design work and literary research before the funding comes in and our start dates are 'official' . Reading journal papers and trying to re-learn thermal systems analysis and design reminds me that my engineer skills need a lot of polishing!
I am sure there will be the lows, the times I want to quit and run to the sanctuary of safety and comfort of a corporate job. Its easy to get excited over something like this, but I am well aware that there will be low points getting there. I signed up for the ride, not just the high points.st_99 said:yeah, thats what i'm talking about, cool.
