I am feeling pretty good at the moment and it seems to be getting better as time goes by. :D

I'm feeling pro as we speak.

Had a great week where I controlled a frame against this stupid little ***** and her whinny friends because I had been upfront and a jerk with them. Then me and my buddy managed to open a 4-set. I got 2 numbers but looks like I've lucked out on them, but my buddy might get something from one of them. That's in my thread about me becoming an *******.

Then yesterday I was part of a flashmob. From there I got 5 numbers, and it looks like I can score with one (I knew her beforehand, and I'm getting mad IOIs from her) and I might get with another one. I'm still to try the other 3 numbers.

And from next week, it's my results day (which decides if I get to go to uni to become a doctor), then my birthday party, then my night out with my best buddies as a VIP at one of the best clubs in town.

I got a new girl and that has made me feel happy, but the last time that I felt truly excited for life was:

when I took a 350 mile bike trip across Northeastern Pennsylvania.

Last March when I was packing my back about to engage on a 2 month adventure across S. America. The combination of excitement, anticipation and fear was like nothing I've ever experienced.

Reason I brought this up is because I haven't felt that good feeling (in a lasting way) in a long time.

I've felt pockets of excitement, happiness, contentment here and there but its always fleeting, never lasting. Its here today, gone tomorrow.

Meet a girl, turns out she's a ho

thought career advancement was up ahead, false alarm

you get what I'm saying, nothing lasting has happened in a looooong time.

I just feel very stagnant. Not progressing.

when? right now.

I have a great opportunity being a part of a start up company which I will have some ownership stake in. What makes this so exciting is that it is 100% up to us, the engineers, to make this thing happen. I feel confident that we could be millionaires before age 35 if we do it right - but this is more than about the money. Its about doing something new and challenging outside the safety of a corporate desk job.

We start in one month, but I am already doing design work and literary research before the funding comes in and our start dates are 'official' . Reading journal papers and trying to re-learn thermal systems analysis and design reminds me that my engineer skills need a lot of polishing!

I am sure there will be the lows, the times I want to quit and run to the sanctuary of safety and comfort of a corporate job. Its easy to get excited over something like this, but I am well aware that there will be low points getting there. I signed up for the ride, not just the high points.

Before that though, I was living in a stale predictable existence that you mentioned. While its nice, it is very boring and it makes you wonder...is there more to life than just this?
