They're just jealous... i've seen this too. Every girl will stare at me when i'm with another chick. Remember that women are just AFCs that never had to learn the rules of the game because guys are horny and they can get some whenever they want. They still define their world like an AFC would.​

So when they're alone and miserable and need someone to "fill that hole" inside of them they feel jealous that they don't have a bf like the girl you're with. Keep in mind, when they stare at you they don't actually like YOU, they like the idea of having a guy like you of their own. They perceive you or her to be happy, and they desire that emotion. So when they stare at you it's because they desire to be in her place. In extreme cases or if she's your gf's friend, they might even go as far as to try to steal you away from the girl out of their own insecurities. This is why when you're married you'll be able to pick up chicks left and right. ​
