The pretty girl get's a lesser setence.... Can't say I am surprised about it.

I remember when I first heard about it, there was a media blitz about this incident and all they show was this girl and not the other people who got arrested. They said she was probably going to get 20 years for this or even death.

Pretty women get away with alot of things including murder. I guess her beauty and the fact she "converted to islam" helped to sway the verdict and she got a slap on the wrist in comparison to the other members of her group who are facing long sentences and even death.

No, it's not because she is a 'pretty girl' that she gets a lesser sentence.

She had 2 exctasy tablets in her purse and was sentenced for 'drug use'.

What she was found guilty of was vastly different from the backpack of 1.4kg of marijuana the other girl tried to bring into Indonesia, or the heroine-strapped smugglers who are facing much harsher penalties.

She wasn't with the other group. They are seperate incidents. What they did was very different in nature, and thus are receiving very different penalties.

Do a search on chappelle corby (spelling may be wrong making your search difficult.) She's the Australian woman done for 1.4kg of marijuana in her backpack, as mentioned by cant think of a user name. She's also very preety.

I agree that she was alone - the other trials mentioned were regarding other people, much like if DJDamage and prosemont were both arrested in different parts of the country for selling dildos to women in state in which those devices were banned. Even though they weren't selling them together, they would probably get mentioned in the same article.

Anyway, what surprised me about the article was when it said "as she shook hands with him at the conclusion of the trial." Seriously - how many people do you hear about who shake hands with the judge? Obviously he was impressed with the fact that she was a celebrity - and perhaps he had his hand in the honey pot (no, not that one)... but still..
