When morality conflicts with being alpha

Let’s suppose you’re with a girl in a diner. An elderly man in a table across from you says to you, “Hold my cane” as he struggles to stand up from his seat.

The reason he tells you to hold his cane is that he is so old that he needs someone to hold his cane so that he can use both hands to help himself stand up.

The alpha thing to do would be to ignore the old man’s hoop and not even acknowledge his existence. He’ll feel like a sack of sh1t, but you’re still dominant. The beta thing to do is to respectfully hold the man’s cane so he can stand up.

I feel like I would rather be beta and brighten an old man’s day than to be alpha and make an elderly man feel like a sack of sh1t.

How do people resolve the moral conflict that happens when you maintain alphaness at all times? Or do you guys just not even think about these ethical issues that pop up in minor situations?

I think your confusing Alpha with being an ass*hole! The alpha thing woulda been to help the older one...alpha style today is at the top of the heap...looking down...not in arrogance but in wisdom.


It's obvious this happened too you and you felt punked out cause you the old man demanded that you hold the cane...old ones do that...no big deal. There is no shame...they get kinda senile and are not alway aware of what they say or do. Plus maybe he was an aged alpha.

I suggest you read everything on here at least 5 MORE TIMES. You're treading extremely thin water, dude. At 27 years old I would hope you know what the "best" thin to do in that situation would be.

I think I posted about true alpha types in anything else...and how others are fawking themselves up trying to pretend to be one.

Thanks for your response, man. Yeah, I definitely don't want to be an ass*hole. I'm glad to know that not only did I do the right thing, but it was also the alpha thing to do.

Sometimes I think people on this board over analyze sh*t, just like a bunch of biatches. If you are to worried about being the alphamale, I don't think you will ever be one. The Alphamale occurs nature because he is the most dominant, and helping some old ass man with his cane isn't going to change that. Why you so worried about being the dominant man over an elderly person, worried he migh steal your girl? This sh*t isn't math, its nature, and show a little respect for your elders.

Good point, man. Maybe it's better to not even think about it. Just try to be a cool guy and do the right thing. Stop caring if what you're doing is "alpha" or "beta" and just be happy with yourself.

I think you have a false dilemma here.

The Alpha thing to do here would be to excuse yourself from your seat, hold the man's cane and offer your arm to him as well. There is no need to stress your physical domination, as he is no threat to you or your progeny, and common decency calls for you to respect your elders. Granted, his manners were a bit off kilter, but would you tell your dad to go to hell just a bit sooner if he had insensitively barked a command at you?

In the end the Alpha Male takes care of those in his tribe who cannot take care of themselves. That is why he has to be the strongest, because when other people depend on you, you should be able to shoulder the weight. In the end, women respect and adore this quality of manhood as perhaps the most noble, and your charity should only garner favor in her eyes.

You should ALWAYS respect your elders. I don't fvcking care how people say that the elders did nothing to build your country or whatever. The reason you are standing in todays society is because of your elders and they built it so pay some damn respect.

If a man walks in on the buss and there are no empty seats, BE THE FIRST to stand up and give yours to him. Common respect and politeness. Besides girls see this as a VERY good trait.

If a man needs help crossing a damn street, jump into traffic and stop the cars.

If an old person drops something and can't bend down to pick it up then go and help.

If you don't help the old man out - girls will see you as a selfish and rude man and figure that you will treat them with the same disrespect and they will flee from you; however, if you did help the old man then women will see you as kind and considerate and figure that is how you will treat them -- and they will flock to you. Which action will be considered alpha is based on what is your intended goal - to be a alpha-jerk or an alpa ladies man - up to you!
