i dont know if its me but it seems like the older people get the less likely they want to do stuff. like hangout/ catch a movie/ grab a drink...etc. or maybe i just know the wrong people.

they'd rather sit at home in front of the comp or watch tv all day.

seems like all my friends are like this as the months go by. i know this probably happens to people who are mid-aged and settling down, but me and my friends are all still in college.

either A) they're lazy bums
B) they're too afraid to try out new things/places

anyone know how to get around this?

most people in this place are like that and I'm talking about high schoolers, man... if i say "let's go camping somewhere in the wood and smoking some pot", the answer i'll get will always be "why? we can stay home and smoke there"

or if i say "let's take the car and drive somewhere and sleep in the car", i'll always hear "no, i'm too tired from school"... man, i'm in your fùckin same school, c'mon it's saturday

i think this is all due to progress... i'd love to live in the 50s yet, but years go away and we can't do anything about it

well, thats because they are going to their comfort zone, its all psychology my friend. After spending the day / week doing nothing, your comfort zone lowers, you'd rather stay at home and do nothing so you can be comfortable rather then go to the gym or hang out with friends, which may not be as rewarding psychologically. That and older people can't keep up for the most part, i mean, sure they can be active, but its harder on the body. Please people, heed my words, be active because this can lead you to many interesting experiences that you can share while you are gaming a girl.

People think they're not allowed to do anything they haven't already done a million times before. On the inside, it's their egos holding them back. On the outside, it's the expectations of others.

People stereotype themselves just like they stereotype others. They develop an identity for themselves and stick to that identity like their life depended on it. Anything not a part of that identity is weird and scary to them, and they'll avoid it. They're punished for trying something new by their own egos; they feel like fakers, or arrogant bastards who don't know their place.

It's like a sort of aristocratic privilege (or obligation) based on a pre-existing condition - a static worldview that's the product of inverting cause and effect: you invest because you're rich, you work out because you're a big, high testosterone guy, you don't go out because you're awkward and boring, etc., and you don't dare do these things if you don't have the prerequisites, because that would violate the stereotype.

Some guys don't thrive on attention. In fact, those guys are usually inhibited by it. Put them in the spotlight and they quickly revert back to type, but let them scuttle back into their dark corner, and they again feel (and act) as free as a bird. When they were young, they may have only received attention when they did something wrong, and have come to associate attention (even obviously positive attention) with wrongness.

My mom told me this:

¨When you want something done, ask someone busy¨.

That, and the fact that only 99 people out of 100 are puny in many ways...

You essentially upped your VALUE in her eyes by showing her that, if she wants you, she has to at times do things that you like to do. You are SOMETHING after all. You are NOT FREE. If she wants to hang with you, it's going to cost her something — time, effort, money.

find new friends. i'm sorry it has to be that way, but i think unfortunately you'll waste too much energy trying to change other people. i've tried, it never works. you have to show them how fun it is to go out...show by example, and action. if you can go out with them, show them how much fun it is...let loose and have fun so they will want to have fun with you again.

i don't know about you but the guys i live with are always going out to eat, to go play ball, to go see movies, etc.

i think it has to do with attitude. are your friends negative? i'm lukcy i got some upbeat roommates who are pretty chill. yeah they watch tv and play video games, but it's also likely they'll just decided to go out on whim often.

find some more energetic, positive people to hang out with.

You have to stop worrying about your friends and live the life that you want. There are people of a similar mindset out there who appreciate an active lifestyle, get out there and find them!
