What to say when it's quiet

Like in the moments that you are with a girl, and suddenly, you have no idea what to say, or think she's feeling uncomfortable?

But i mean, i have a friend that always keeps the laughing and being flirty with them... how does he do this?

Sometimes it happens to me, but i have no idea how i do it. It just comes up as naturally, or the girl is really interested in me, and she keeps talking to me, so I have more things to comment about, tease her about, and makes jokes about it.

But... do anyone knows of things to say when this happens? or when you are in a group not saying anything?

by the way, i'm 17, but im not posting this in the hs board because this could help anyone.

Wait!

Wait for her to say something first when this awfully awkward silence occurs.

Her restarting the conversation would mean that she has a brain and is using it to move forward the interaction.

It would also mean that she likes you to a certain extent which means she is exerting an effort ergo she is interested in you.

If you just can't stand the silence since it's taking so long, just eject shes not interested in you. Move on.

you dont have to be talking about bull**** every second...use moments of silence to give her a really suggestive look or use some other body language to insinuate sex especially. the silences are only awkward if you make them to be awkward. silences could also serve as a way to let her come up with something to say, that could also imply that shes into you.
