Senior Don Juan
So this weekend a girl is taking me out to dinner, buying me pizza. Then a few days later I'm going to cook for her. I know she loves beer, but I'm thinking of getting some red wine to add some fun.
But anyways, I need some ideas on what to cook. So my dilemma is that I'm working in CHINA, and I don't have an oven, only a single (hot plate)stove top burner thing. But I have all of the standard utensils, and some "rice-a-roni" from america. My plan is to cook the rice, since this girl has never tasted "San Francisco's 'American' rice". What is a good traditional "american" meal that I can cook for her? Keep in mind, my choices are limited because in China some foods from America might be scarce.
I was thinking corn on the cob, throw some butter on it. That's easy to cook. Or I can make mashed potatoes (but without gravy). So throw out some suggestions, I'm down to try any food. I'm not too worried, no matter what I cook she'll be happy, I just want to make a good "american" food impression, since this is a Chinese girl.
