I would answer: 'Why should I care about being a great boyfriend?'

I could imagine at the funeral: 'He didn't accompish, create, or do anything with his life, but he sure was a great boyfriend. He bought his girlfriend flowers everyday, cooked for her, carried her purse, never upset her, and made sure she was always happy in the relationship.'
