Don't know if this counts as a comeback in the way you ask, but I was dating this girl that was giving me mixed signals. Went to lunch with her and got clear about my intentions, yet she said something about "I thought it was a more platonic thing", told her: "Yeah, no I don't think you did, heh! Come on." And when she began giving me the "...I'm just not in a good place right now, I'm coming from a bad breakup..." speech I tuned out and check my smart watch, told her I needed to go back to work and gave her the most disinterested one arm hug when she leand on for a kiss goodbye.
Around 6 months later of having no contact with her at all I was going through memes on social media and saw one about a fat raccoon rolling around. Remember her said something about loving those mischievous critters and tag her, along other friends that like stuff like that. She liked it a lot and couldn't believed I remember that (if only she knew it was among the few things really) and started messaging me directly.
Eventually she invite to her house on Friday night since her birthday was close or something and went. When I arrived her friends made space for me next to her and after a few talking and drinking games she leaned closer and start a conversation in private with me as her friends talked to each other. She eventually took the conversation to a "I can't believe you are here, I'm so glad" to a "I was such a fool for letting you go" and escalating more and more.
We dated for a few months after that, but she became extremely possessive over me, to the point I couldn't talk about female friends or coworkers without she making a scene and saying stuff like "I don't need to know about other women in your life!". I ended up talking sternly about this and walk out of that relationship when she got upset.
