Whatever you want it to be. Don't worry about weight, worry about body fat percentage.

Start out here to calculate your Body Mass Index (BMI). It doesn't calculate body fat but lets face it, who can't look in a mirror and tell that they have too much fat on themself?

Hugh ....

Your similar to me: 6'1'' male. I also want to know this, since I weigh at any given time between 125-130lbs. I know, unbelivable right? Nope. Ive weighed myself on 3 different digital scales and one non digital and it all comes up the same..

Worst part is, when I ask my doctor for help, she says I should'nt worry about it and I'll be thankful when im older! pfft! She says my metabolism must be really active, but doesn't think its necessary to do blood work to find if maybe I have an "overactive thyroid" which means an unusually high metabolism basically.

Notice that! Its a chick saying this, she doesnt know how it feels... I eat so much, including alot of fast food, but can't seem to gain weight. I desperatly want to gain weight as I look like a "tooth pick" :( I guess I will go back to the docs and insist on some blood work and maybe a weight gain regimin such as WHEY and hopefully come up with the time and a workout partner to start working out...by the way, what would the results be like if I were to take WHEY without working out?

Jimbo2k you can check out Diesels guide to bulking on this forum, its pretty good. I know what a pain in the ass it is if you are skinny and don't know what to do to gain weight, 90% of the people will tell you don't worry about it or youll be glad when you are older. And most women think that weight is the only thing that matters althought its possible to be skinny and fat at the same time. If you haven't worked out before, one of the best parts of it is that it naturally increases your appetite. I know, I went from 117 to 145 in about 10 months.

Weight is just a #. It's how you look in the mirror...

If you're too skinny, try to bulk up. If you're too fat, cut your calories and do some areobics...

BMI sucks and isn't accurate. FOr a good reading. Go look something up on the web. I use this thing in the Zone book. You take your wasit measure subracted from your wrist then you ollk it up on a chart. BMI just to inaccurate. Theres plenty of better ones.

Jimbo,

I think we're about the same. I weigh 61 or 62 kg (136 lbs?) myself, but I have clothes that make me look a little bigger. Well, when I look in the mirror while wearing those clothes, my shoulders look more broad. I eat like a freaking PIG, and I don't gain anything. But I don't lose anything either. It's incredibly weird.

I am not a total tooth pick though, my muscles are visible, but they are quite small.

Clothing that makes your shoulders look broader? What kind of clothing is this and how exactly does it accomplish that goal?

And Wheelin...you look skinny at that weight? How is that possible

I don't really know. They're just normal clothes. I have a long-sleeved sweater and when I pull the sleeves about halfway up, I look much more bigger. That was only one example, I have more clothes like that, but the point is that you should wear them in a way that your shoulders look broader, and your stomach tighter. It probably has to do with optical illusions and such. It's hard to explain, you should try it out.
