Simple. They have impossible criteria that are their real "husband." All the men with decent self-esteem & quality they meet are driven away by the interrogation.
This is pretty much dead-on. However, the main reason they have such "impossible criteria" is because there's so much quantity of demand, they HAVE to filter it out.
It really is sad the way it works. But it's the same as you signing up and getting messages from fat chicks. After a while, you just stop caring and start filtering EVERYONE out.
Women who are attractive are hit on CONSTANTLY in the so-called "real world". After a while, the decent guys and the tools all just start to blend together, and the effort to filter them all is overwhelming...plus there are so many so-called-juans out there trying to "fool" the women, that even if they DO like what they see, they suspect some kind of ruse that they would catch if they weren't too preoccupied with filtering everyone else out.
So they just give up on the real-life scene entirely and sign onto dating/meeting websites.
MySpace was one of my greatests sources of tail when it first came out and no one knew about it. Because there were fewer guys to filter through, girls were more willing to give people a chance. Not that these guys were any better or worse than the ones they met at the local booze-n-puke, but it provided an arbitrary filtering standard.
Now, a hot girl cannot log onto MySpace without receiving a dozen messages a day from random guys and, from what they've told me, these messages are not necessarily all flattering or respectful either. "I'd like to split you like a 2x4, baby! Let's meet up!"
It's all a big attempt to find "the road less travelled" and hopefully filter the dating pool down to a reasonable number of good candidates.
The simple fact is that in this world, there are too many arseholes out there, both male and female. That's why so many people give up on being HAPPY and instead just look to find "someone" to get married and get the whole thing over with. And then divorce skyrockets.
People in today's society are just not comfortable with being human. :woo:
