Ummm... I suck at reading poems too, but I think it says work toward and don't forget (hold fast) your dreams, because if you don't (for if dreams die) life isn't good or complete anymore (life is like a broken-winged bird, that cannot fly).

Or, more simply, you'll never reach the heights of your dreams and goals if you forget about them.

Or, your dreams are both the heights (goals) and the wings (motivation) to get you there.
