What do YOU do with YOUR hands?

When you dont have something in your hands, what do you do with them? Earlier today I found myself in the mall and couldnt figure out what to do with my hands. I remember seeing a show were they told the leading character to hold/smoke a cigar to occupy his hands. I just cant figure out what to do with mine, lol. Havent come up with anything good. What do u guys do with your hands when your standing/sitting around? (besides wack )

Scratching yourself is always a good option. I tend to make hand gestures while talking to keep them busy

While walking, I put one hand in my pocket cowboy style (thumb in, rest out) and swing the other one casually infront of me. While standing, I put both in cowboy style.

now for real, some may say that hand in the pocket = sign of insecurity, and I agree with that. You should keep your hands out and walk naturally. When you're standing there doing nothing, I don't know, do what's natural. Pick your nose, pick your ears or just flipping out people you see.

What about the cowboy style? Is that insecure?

I either smoke a ciggie or just play with my car keys. Besides I hate having car keys in my pocket, I have a handfull set of keys and it gets uncomfortable in my pocket.

i came across a thread similar to this a while back. for what its worth, it was noted that the cowboy style (thumbs in, hands out) was not insecure; quite the contrary, rather masculine.

it was, however, agreed that both hands deep inside the pockets is bad; a sign of insecurity, weakness, etc.

i walk upright, chest out a bit, shoulders low and back and let my hands naturally sway. when standing or resting against something, i tend to do the one-handed-cowboy and sometimes cross my legs - think Mr White from Resevoir Dogs when he says to Harvey Keitel, "are you gonna bark all day, little doggie, or are you gonna bite?"

and interestingly enough, whatever it means... sometimes i tend to rub my stomache while standing. as if ive just eaten a great meal and im savoring the contentment. hmm.

I few things to keep your hands occupied -

A bag from a store,

A drink (Coffee),

If you can learn how to put a quarter (a loonie works good in Canada) in your knuckles and move it between them really cool like, without droppin it.

A pen, you have one already, spin it twirl it but don't click it

Your bike helmet (Bicycle or motor). Leave your wwf bike helmet at home and get a cool one.

Your briefcase or backpack,

Your sunglasses

Keys are not good, try talking to someone while they are jingeling there keys around - frigging annoying!!

Thats my thoughts anyways...

seriously I dont know what to recommend here, but i can tell you what NOT to do.

DO NOT

Bite your nails
Fidget
Hold your drink long after its empty
sniff your fingers
gesture too wildly, arms flailing

Come to think of it, the best thing you can do with those restless hands is KINOOOOOOOOOO!
