What Do I Do

Hi,

I am guy in his thirties who is in a bit of a tricky situation, the problem is that I have become interested in a woman about 18 years older than me. I would love to ask her out for a drink sometime because I believe she is currently single. I don't however want her to think I am weird by being interested in her. I realise the extent of the age gap is large but you would never tell she was the age she is.

Do you think I should bite the bullet or do you think I should leave well alone.

I have spoken to her a couple of times, and she always seems to enquire about me if she is talking to someone I know, but I don't know whether or not this is a romantic interest.

After people graduate from high school it's kind of free reign. I personally don't want to date 20-year olds again, but 25 and up, sure. I've dated women close to 50 and many in their 30's. Best not to put too many restrictions or you'll lose out.

Some women in their 20's look like sh-t, some in their 40's look great, and vice versa.

Best not to let society dictate your choices ... especially American society. We're talking about a society that thinks sitcoms are funny, fast food is good, and proclaims Brittney Spears can sing.

Knowing this, best to trust your own instincts. In the 21st century, I'd say most of the time American society is wrong on just about everything.

Ask her out and have fun.
