What do I ask this chick to do if I'm not supposed to just "ask her out"?

Well, crap, I can't get the stupid thing to link.

Not sure what I'm doing wrong.

The jist is, this girl is attractive, and fairly solid, but she does have a kid (3yr old). Basically, she was engaged and got dropped when the kid came into the picture.

Anyway, I met her through a friend bout 3 months ago. Thought nothing of it.

I saw her at the Salon she manages about2 months ago.

I saw her at a friends party bout 7 weeks ago.

I saw her friday before last when I went back to the salon for a cut.

I think she might be interested. I dunno if I'm really interested. But a date out would do nothing but help me to grow as I've had nothing going AT ALL since my LTR ended in Feb.

So, I just wanna call her up at the Salon, and ask her out.

Apparently, just asking is a bad idea. (From what was posted in the other thread).

So, since I really dunno her interests yet, and theres no big community event coming up, what can I say if I can't just call and ask her if she wants to go out sometime?
