I do alot of mountain biking and I've noticed that on some days, I can ride for hours straight without feeling too tired. But on other days, huffin' and puffin' before I even get to the mountain.

I've heard that getting ALOT of carbs the day before working out can give you energy, is this true?

My question is how can I keep my stamina for my long rides?

For clarification, "GI" stands for "glycemic index" and is a measurement of how much insulin is created and secreted by the pancreas when said carbohydrate is digested.

Thanks for the reply; what ARE some low GI foods? Or where can I find a list?
