I started to read this book.
I can truely say it is tooo unnecessary for me.
Don't trust people, Don't (emotionally)attach people, use them...
So if i am a politician I can like it but as a normal person, as a student I found these thing too unnecessary
What you guys think about it?

Seduction was better, I couldn't like this one.

It's such a well-written book. Reading it for the historical stories and quotes at minimum is well worth the time expended.
I understand but are you Do you follow the rules? They are like don't trust anyone, Use people etc.
It came too far for real life.

Excellent book illustrating human nature. Filled with enlightening history stories and lessons. Not a “how to“ manual per se. As you read it, you will probably recognize some of the behaviors that he describes in people that you interact with. I found it interesting to read and ponder. Funny when I wanted to buy it, it was behind the counter at Barns and Noble. Some people consider it an evil book, so it has to be kept out of reach. It’s a history book for fvck sake, settle down people. Yet telling kids that genders are fluid and they can identify as a cat is perfectly fine.

I don't deny that we are all selfish to some degree. However, after reading it, I decided to unlearn the material.

People that are this drunk on power, probably aren't very kind to dogs.

You should view it as a book of knowledge first and foremost. Take it in context of Rian Stone's new book and his comments about the dark triad traits and there being a spectrum to their application and utility. The 48 Laws of Power sit there in a similar context foundationally. The laws explain human nature but it's up to you (to BWV's point) as to how, if and to what extent you choose to apply them.

Do I spend my life trying to follow the laws in the way he lays out in the book and to that degree? No. Does life make more sense as I leverage the knowledge from time to time in my day to day as I notice events and motivations more? Yes.

Understanding power based on how it functions is a necessary step to navigating it.

It’s an OK peep into human nature. I read it in the early aughts. Looking back, I consider it a blueprint for mostly wannabe tough guys.

OP you are too young to understand how to apply a lot of it too life

I read it at about 22 and thought exactly the same

I re-read it at 30 with a lot more life experience and was able to apply it to more of my life experiences
