Well...I didn't think it would be that easy

Just to let everyone know that my latest cold approach has been a success...I am very surprised that considering this was my first cold approach in over a year that it would be so successful. She called me back today and left a message about making arrangements for this weekend for coffee.

These are the exact words I said to her. Nothing more Nothing less:
"Hi, this may be an unusual question, but you look familiar. Do I know you from somewhere?"
"No, I don't think so but you look familiar too."
"Interesting (pause) what's your name?"
"HB, yours?"
"Manonamission"
"What school do you go to?"
"East coast school, how about you?"
"Inner city school"
"Cool. (At this time she had finished ringing up my items) Well it was nice to meet you, would you mind giving me your phone number?"

The reason I posted this is because I'd like some feedback on my opening line, has anyone ever used this as an icebreaker?

I guess that's pretty much it. I just thought I'd post my results for guys that are relatively new to this, and it's really a lot easier than that little voice inside your head makes you think.

Well, most people would consider your opening line a pretty cheesy one, and I'm sure she's heard it before. It's innocuous enough to seem innocent, if you say it naturally. Getting the number is nothing at all though! I could get numbers all day.

Is it the real number?

Does she call you back?

Does she meet you?

Those are the important questions. If the answer to one or all of those was 'no' the reason was because you didn't create a real connection with her.
