Hello all, am thinking of starting GYM and lifting some weights. I'm turning 16 years old in about 1 month and my height is about 5'6 and am about 129lbs. Do you think weight lifting will have any effects with my growth and where can I find a schedule ? Thanks in advance.

Check the bulking guide for advice on a working out schedule

Im almost exaclty your size / age

Ive been 16 sice august, I was 130 5'6 a month ago when I started lifting (probably gained 5-8 pounds since then)

Try not to overdo it on excercises where you are standing up. Squats should be about it. All other excersices should be without weights, or sitting down or lying down.

hbdragon08 is joking (I hope). You are pretty free to do any exercise at this point.

www.exrx.net and www.bodybuilding.com are good resources, though you should take the stuff on BB.com with a grain of salt.
