something i was wondering, i'm drinking protein shakes daily now, so say in a few months when i ahve reached a build i am happy with and no longer feel the need to drink protein shakes.

Assuming i carry on working out, is it likely i will lose the muscle i have put on???

basically, do i need to keep taking these shakes?

Yes you need protein to maintain any muscle you gained. But protein shakes are no magic muscle secret. The only time you should even consider taking a shake is pre- or postworkout. Most of your gains will come from eating REAL food, like eggs, milk, lean beef, fish, fruit, vegetables and lots of it.

real food my friend REAL food

supplements are good to supplement an already good diet to meet your nutritional requirements. however at no time should one rely on them for gains

i take protein shakes post workout and occassionally when i am in too much of a rush for making food. that happens maybe once a week. otherwise its real food for me
