remember muscle can be built even in a deficit of calories as long as there is sufficient protein in your system.

I came across this great post by WBA when i was looking through previous threads about bulking while cardio. For a while, i always thought your calorie intake determined whether you gain/maintain/loss weight. Until he mentioned ^^^^^. What did he exactly mean?

For example, would a 150lbs person still be able to gain if he ate 2g of protein while consuming say only 1500-1800 calories everyday?

No he would not be able to gain. Re-read it. Your misunderstanding the point. It's a cross between a Time carb diet and morning cardio. But you always have to eat to gain muscle. Protein won't do it alone. The calories have to be there.

Think of it this way...in the morning your losing fat, and night your gaining muscle and eating clean so you don't put any excess fat on. Just cause you eat more calories doesn't mean you'll get fat. That's the beauty of low carb diets.

Be careful with lowcarb diets. Your body will begin to break down amino acids in order to meet its energy supply. So you may lower your carb intake but DONT eliminate it.

Yes. If your genetics allow for it. You can only find out if you try.

Sounds like a bad idea though. 2g of protein per lb of bodyweight and 1800 calories? That sounds like an all protein diet. Might want to invest in an econo-size Imodium tub.

you must have some really really ridiculous genetics for this to work. This would be the 30 year-plan to get huge

I tried something similar, that is eating under maintenance (kept my protein at 2g/1lb of bw) and expecting to gain. Yep.. I wasted my time. I gained some strength but no mass and still didn't loose the fat. That sucked. :p

If you don't already have said mass then bulk first. Then again if you have a lot of mass (in this case I mean bodyfat) then cut first. I think recomping is for people who have a LOT of muscle mass to begin with.

Uh, that's the point of fats. You eat fat to cover the energy demands rather than carbs. Usually i see low carb diets specifying 40% fats for the diet.
