Am doing some research on various foods that i like, just started with watermelon for no particular reason. Am no expert; i just dig up info in a hour about the stuff im comsuming.

Basic data (based on 280 gram serving):
Calories (from fat): 84 (4)
Total Fat: 0.5 grams
Carbs: 21 grams (17 Sugar)
Protein: 2 grams
Vitamins worth noting:
Vitamin A - 32%
Vitamin C - 38%

Sexual benefits
Watermelon is one of few natural sources that contain Citruline. Citruline relaxes blood vessels. This is pretty much the same thing Viagra does, but on a much larger scale. It'd take 2-3 weeks of daily watermelon eating to start to notice any effect on your erection power though, and even then - it might not be noticeable. It's also worth noting that some of the Citruline is in the white part of the watermelon, the part with no flavor that no one eats (but has no adverse health risks and is fried in China).

Filling feeling
Watermelon is over 91% water! This is why when you eat it you will begin to feel full pretty fast. This makes it an ideal way to top off a meal. For me, 3-4 chunks (far less than the serving size above) after a meal will put an end to any food cravings i may have until it's time for my next meal. I seriously can't believe how filling they are and how little they have in them.

Helps you get the junk out your body faster
This is especially important if you take a lot of pills or eat/drink supplements that could have an adverse effect on your kidneys. Watermelon is a diuretic; which pretty much means it makes you use the bathroom more than usual and cleans you a little better.

High levels of Beta-carotene
Beta-carotene helps you body produce vitamin A, which can help you heal from sickness/injury faster. It is also an antioxidant. It's also much better when consumed in food rather than through a supplement. Note: More than one site said that smoking cigarettes and consuming beta-carotene together can increase the chance of lung cancer.

For me...
A lot of fruits just make me more hungry (the sugar content maybe) so i tend to stay away from a good bit of them. When im really watching what i put in my body - I pretty much only consume these fruits: Cantaloupe, Watermelon, and Bananas. I try not to consume too much watermelon because the spike in my blood sugar levels would be extreme. But as i said - 3-4 chunks isn't something i'm going to worry much about.

nice, If people weren't so lazy and just did a little bit of research from the vast amount of information readily available to us for free, every one of us would have an ideal diet specifically tailored to what we need and how it benefits us. Your small effort to learn about watermelon is just the start. Imagine if everyone did a bit of research on the foods they ate and didnt eat.

we would be sharing all types of helpful information with each other.

well done.

You spent an hour searching watermelon info?
Yep, and i spend a lot more time than that researching information on foods and exercise. I figure - if i spend a hour looking up a food; and maybe look up 100 foods - that's what? About 4 days of my life? How much extra life do you think that'll tack on to my end years? (assuming my end years aren't brought on by a bullet)
