The hype and drama is more to sell the movie. It's no "secret", really, it's a well-publicized fact. You hear it from day one...you're just trained over time to do exactly as you're doing, MuzzleHatch...disregard it as "inspirational rubbish".
You talk about "hard science" like it's gospel. Do you even know what kinds of discoveries they're making about "subatomic particles"? Do you still think of electrons as little marbles in "orbit" around something? Some things humans just have not developed a way to observe. Do you know the history of our perception of the atom? How many scientists studied it and how many different visualizations and theories of it were accepted before we came on the standardized impression of it we have today? If YOU knew quantum physics, you would know they're doing the SAME thing with quantum particles now...and what they're finding, if you were to actually follow it, would blow your mind. Want a slice?

For centuries, Newton's laws were accepted as immutable truth until Einstein developed his theory of relativity, which was later found to be true once we developed a way to observe it. How long has man been studying the human brain? Why do they STILL not "get" how it works? All they know is, "well, we believe this piece is responsible for memory, and this one has something to do with emotions"...why haven't they nailed it down yet?
I'm guessing you're still pretty young. Do some living first before you reject any assumption. The more I live, the more this Law of Attraction principle holds true.
The ideas about "magnetism" and quantum physics are more analogies than hard truth. For someone who talks about "critical thinking", maybe you should try it out. You point out that the physics is hazy, and you point out that most of the people on the video are NOT physicists, yet you fail to put two and two together and realize that these people are simply expressing what they know in the best way they know how to...with metaphors. You sound like one of those born-again Christian zealots who takes the Bible verbatim instead of using your brain to actually try to understand the message.
By the way, you want to know more about some of the people who spoke on "The Secret"? Here:

Are they no-namers? I don't think so. Do you want to compare their list of accomplishments with your own? I don't think so. The authors you declare as "no-name" have written best-selling books. Esther Hicks had a book that was near the top of the Amazon best-seller list just a couple weeks ago. I know because I looked. If you haven't heard of Jack Canfield's "Chicken Soup for the Soul", you need to watch less TV...you're not going to hear about these kinds of things there. TV isn't designed to help you grow as a person. It's there to keep you entertained and make you buy stuff.
If their achievements aren't significant enough, consider that Newton and Einstein also subscribed to the belief in the creative power of the human mind, as well as people like Martin Luther King, Ghandi, Mother Theresa...ever heard of any of them? How about Henry Ford? Dale Carnegie? Arguably the best businesspeople of American history.
If you look around, you'll see traces of it in your modern sports heroes as well. Michael Jordan, for example. He was one for visualization and for making your own destiny. You think it was all natural talent...Jordan spent ENDLESS hours practicing, trying to unite his vision with his reality. I'd say he succeeded.
You can sit around yammering about cold scientific fact out one side of your mouth, while out the other side of the mouth you talk to the Don Juan forum about imaginary concepts like "confidence", or "masculinity", or "charisma" like they're anything more than a result of how you think and feel about yourself.
Do you think things like "love" are real things?
It doesn't matter what I say. If you're not ready to hear the "secret", then you won't. You'll do exactly as you're doing. Sooner or later you WILL hear it. Hopefully while you're still young. And even when you can finally hear it, you might not be able to apply it right away. But when you're ready, you will.
If nothing else...let it fester in your head some. Next time you find yourself in a "hopeless" situation, or next time you achieve something great...think about what really happened. Then come back and talk as if you're an expert.
