I'm not so sure why 'Fight Club' is the movie you guys recommend on this board so much.

So this is my tip, watch Groundhog's Day. Its an older film, but they have it on DVD. Rent it from blockbuster, grab some popcorn and maybe your girl as well.

You'll learn a lot from it.

Just watch.

Also watch Breakfast at Tiffany's for a great example of typical illogical female behaviour and ******** talk. It's almost a goddamn BBC documentary!

Groundhog day has been interpreted in many odd ways. Someone claimed it was all about reincarnation. On one level I think it makes a good point, possibly that you can spend your whole life in a wasteful non productive way or you can do some learning or something useful everyday. Because let's face it. Life is just a series of days connected to each other and if you live them the same way, it is Groundhog day.

However, this movie on a straightforward level is AFC. Here is a guy with nothing else to do in his repetitive day but find out what are the right moves to win his Oneitis and to change himself into her ideal man. What could be more chumpy than that. On top of that he still doesn't get the girl until he refrains from trying to hump her and just is a "nice" guy. They don't get any more AFC than that.

You missed the whole point of the film.

First he wants instant gratification with things.
Next he wants to change to please that one particulart women. He does everything she wants him and then some.
Then he says fvck it and changes for himself and only then does she come to him. At the end of the film, he stops caring what others and the women wants and does what he wants.

Same feminism bull from Hollywood Bourne. Don't try and win the girl with any tricks, all will work out if you just become a nice guy. Great message, and effective too YOU THINK?

On another level if your take is correct, why does he change from bastard to nice guy anyway? Why doesn't he keep taking that woman to the movies with her dressed in a French maid outfit? Because the only way to find true happiness is by conforming to a woman's idea of a "nice guy".

I agree with Bourne.

Bill Murray makes himself into a better man. That's how he gets the girl. It's not about him being a nice guy, it's about him being a good guy. Everyone likes him. Maximum social proof. He's multi-talented. Women swoon for men like that.
