Was that a compliment or an insult ?

A new chick just moved into our house. She is preety 'hot' by ppl's standards, tall n skinny. Guys all around her. The impression i got was that she thought she was 'all that', and was kinda frumpy.

The stereotypes of 'dumb blondes' comes to mind. Oh well, shes new n i figured i would try n just 'get along' with her, which is all good.

So i wasnt showing any interest leveles in her or anything, didnt really start conversations not much eye contact or nething.... not consciously, i just wasnt into her.

So, the other night me n a couple of the other roommates get back from the bar and she gets back too. im drunk off my arse and she says oh this house is great, Beduffled and girl1 are soo cool. i just smiled. And she keeps asking us questions, but is far more interested in what my answers are.

Tonight we are just hanging out, and we had smoked a bit of the sticky icky. she gets back from her friends, and proceeds to tell the 2 of us about her protective brother, and proceeds to say..."he's so skinny, kinda like befuddled except taller".

And there i was just stunned and laughing cause of my state of mind.

Whats up with that ?

The words "he's so skinny" can be said in a myriad of ways that can make them seem anything from sarcastic to a plain objective statement.

Can't help you with that unless you tell us the tone she said that in.

"oh my brother is so skinny... like.... like...befuddled skinny. except befuddled shorter than him so it's ok...he's a lot taller and about your weight".

She was talking about her brother n her looking out for each other, and oh yeah...she was completely sober. me n my friend were not.

It wasn't an insult. It wasn't a complement but an observation made by her. You look better than her brother to her. That's a good thing.

why analyze all these little things. you live in the same place as her, so you have all the time in the world to slowly build some sort of rapport with her, then you can make a move to get her out one-on-one. Then at the end of all that, you will know for sure if she is interested in you or not.

sitting around analyzing one indirect comment all day is not a DJ thing to do IMO, especially is she was smoking the icky sticky.

i wouldn't even worry about that comment. keep moving the markers forward as they say in football, little by little.

good point. ive moved on. Shes smarter than i thought. A good friend of mine, who literally gets any chick he wants tried to get her to come out, but she saw right through him.... shes earned my respect.... or she could just be a lesbian... seriously.
