I really want to delete facebook. I hate it.

Told gf about it and she got bothered Bécause
she doesnt like being single on facebook(didnt ask her why)
And I told her, well put one of your guy friends as your bf.

At this point she looked confused.
Started saying that I dont care about her or the
relationship and that im hiding something.

This was vía text.

Smh. Any advice on how to handle this one?

Tell her to stop acting like a baby. If you want to delete your FB account then do so. She has no say in it.

O, as for the relationship I'd say something like this - "WTF are you talking about ? Stop jumping to such BS conclusions, I find it quite a turn off. If I didn't want to be with you I wouldn't be."

I said this in another thread but I deleted mine nearly 5 years ago and my life has been much better off in more ways than I can talk about.

She can set her status to "In a Relationship" without having someone listed.
And I'm sure she knows that, she just wants people to know she's with you.

Just delete it and tell her that she'll be fine.
FB won't bring you anything positive, and at this point you are pretty much forced into doing it.

Btw, you can't permanently delete your account. If you try to log back in after you "delete" it, you can easily get back on after confirming your password. It' pretty stupid how easy it is to log in after deleting the account.

Link to the thread, or explain here. I know there is rarely anything good from Facebook, but I can't imagine how not having one could improve your life, other than less distraction and increasing "mystery."

I've never had a FB account. But I've noticed that people that do spend a ridiculous amount of time on there. Seems silly to me.

Why not just keep your account open but not post anything in it. I won't go so far as to delete my fb account but fb does make me sick and want to puke from all the beta orbiters fueling the validation wh0rez. It has gotten really bad lately. there are like super validation wh0rez... a new breed of them.

excuse me while I gag at some baby pictures and bad advice. **** is addicting.

Delete your FB if you want, but if you don't understand why your gf is acting this way then lol. It is not even that she would be single on FB alone, you literally told her to put any random as her relationship partner. You are treating your gf like a fckbuddy and then confused why she is acting so confused and weird. That's fine if you want a fckbuddy, because I guarantee you a lightbulb went off in her head where she realized you see/treat her more as a fckbuddy then a girlfriend, and that is why she is acting the way she is.

Exactly, you've just said it yourself. It prevents you from turning into some brain washed moron who is constantly checking their profile (or what ever the fvck people do with it). I'd rather live in reality, than spend my life staring at my phone screen.

Like you said, it was distracting for me. I used to spend countless hours on it just mindlessly browsing it. On Facebook, people tend to lie a lot and it's like a hyper version of keeping up with the Joneses. Everyone trying to outdo each other with pictures of their latest event or how awesome their midday lunch looks.

I never seemed to be able to get any work done. I would get on my laptop to type a paper and the next thing I was looking at pictures of an old classmate's trip to South Africa and wonder how I ended up there.

I also didn't like having all my information out there like that. With a simple name search, you can learn more about a date than you would learn from them. It was a bit uncomfortable for me and I didn't like that.

Deleting my Facebook years ago shot my productivity through the roof. Made me less depressed from looking at how "well" old friends or classmates or whatever were doing.

That's just me though. I know there are tons of people out there who are active on Facebook and were way more productive than I was. But that's me and how deleting it made me a better person.

Jesus Christ, I hate women

Just look how important their status on FB is to them. Apparently, she wants to show all other people on there that she is in a relationship, this makes her feel good about herself, she wants to "show off" with it. So God forbid that her boyfriend would delete his FB account coz that means she can no longer show off with her relationship status anymore. Really, that must be like THE END OF THE WORLD in her experience, lol.

Makes ya wonder what's really more important to her? Her relationship status on FB or the guy she is actually IN A RELATIONSHIP WITH? I wouldn't be surprised if he just deletes his account, then she gets angry about it, they get into a fight and break up. In that case, the importance she put on her FB relationship status would actually have destroyed the relationship ITSELF, lol. But that's women for ya :p

Anyway, these fvcking moments, where women display this stupid fvcking behavior, is why I don't even wanna be in another relationship. Seriously, if my GF would say something stupid like this to me, I'd respond in the same manner and tell her she can put one of her guy friends as her BF. Then if she'd give me sh!t about that and accuse me of not caring about our relationship or something, I'd probably just break up with her there and then out of anger.

God, they can be stupid, ignorant fvcktards sometimes...

/END RANT

Anyway, good luck with the situation, pal :)

Me: Cool.
Her: I dont Want to be there If your not there.
Me: its just a stupid social media website.
Me: watt matters is that you are With me.
Me: not on fb, ig, Twitter or in Any other places
That dont matter.
Her: I know. Im sorry for making such drama about it.
Me: atleast you recognise your faulty behavior.
Her: I love you.

Man I wanna delete it but it is a crucial part of my social calendar back home. I haven't posted on it for more than a month now and I have unfollowed almost everyone except for the people who only post important stuff or post very rarely. Plus any event or gig collating pages. You can have your cake and eat it too.

On facebook, just like in real life, it's funny how the people who talk the most and the loudest have the least to say.
