I have a very bad voice. Russian accent, bad. Its alright on Russian, but bad in English. Older women get a kick out of it and find it a turn on, younger girls dont like it, I can see it goes 180 after I open my mouth.

What are some of the voice lessons on tapes or computer program I could get that will help me with my problem? I have Sound of your Voice, by carrol flemming. I wonder if there is anything else that will work for me even better.

- Take singing lessons. Singing lessons will help you strengthen your voice, properly pronounce certain words, the tone of your voice, and hold a note (which is good for making sure your voice isn't all over the place).

- Quit smoking. I don't know if you smoke, but in-case anyone who smokes is reading this and can't understand why your voice seems so damaged, this is probably why. Smoking can damage your vocal cords, breathing and personal health (duh).

- Take deep breath's before speaking. Deep breather's have stronger voices and generally speak clearer.

- Don't force anything. Putting force on your vocal cords will damage your voice.

- Have a little confidence in yourself. Confident speakers generally have better voices then a unconfident speaker.

- Take a deep breath and hum to yourself. Hum in one tone and hold that tone as long as you can. Don't hum to a song, because you'll end up humming in various tones. You can do that later if you really feel the need to hum to a song. Think of yourself as a meditating monk.

- Now try usng different mouth shapes and vowels like "ooh", "ee", "a" and "aah".

- Here's a website that has some free singing exercises (as said above, singing exercises can also help you strengthen your voice, pronunciate, etc).

Let's try this one more time. I'm going to type fast, so this won't be as detailed as my original post.
