Hi guys! I love the website...pretty new here. Here's my dilemna:

I am just a tad big overweight and would really like the confidence with losing a few pounds. I am currently 165 and 5'10 (mostly fat...only a little muscle). Not too overweight, but not satisfied. I was reading Diesel's cutting guide and it looks like it should definately help me out a lot. I am a vegetarian which may seem to be a problem with getting enough protein. I have whey powder that I started to use daily. What I would be so happy to know is what foods I should buy to help me cut down? Remember, I do not eat even white meat, so fish is excluded. Is there a good meal plan you think I should try? Thank you all so much in advanced for helping me.

I'm pretty sure tofu provides all of the essential amino acids (like dairy products).

Dairy produce (including quark, yogurt, and the like), tofu, tempeh, quorn, lentils, nuts, nut butters, pea protein, soya protein, eggs and egg protein (if you eat these) ..

START EATING MEAT!!!

check out www.theomnivore.com
maybe their theories will make u change ur mind

being a vegetarian probably means that your carb intake is higher than it needs to be,, and when it comes to weight loss, high carb diets are a big problem!

our bodies arent designed to eat large amounts of grains!,,,,our neolithic ancestors (whom might i add, did not suffer from obesity or diabetes, they were all in peak fitness!) lived on meat, veg, fruit and nuts and very VERY small amounts of grain!,,,,NO SOY!
lately there is so much hype about the benefits of soy products

HOWEVER

NONE of the tests undergone were performed in a controlled manner and positive results were highly exagerated and manipulated to benefit the industry

oh, and by the way,,, our ancestors were NOT vegetarians!!

i may sound harsh towards but quite frankly i think vegetarianism is silly and as hard as it may be you have to get over any moral issues about animals being killed,,,who knows, plants might have feelings too!

Funny thing though, I've yet to meet an overweight vegetarian.

Might be just my experience though.

Um, yeah, you aren't making any sense. Let him make his own choice.
