Sup Guys i ned help..Ive been doing some searches on what way to eat your vegetables as well as keeping its nutrients. I found that eating them "fresh" is the best way to keep its nutrients. This might sound dumb, but what do people mean when they say to eat your veggies "FRESH"??
My closest guess is just taking it out of the bag, put warm water on them and then just eat them. Correct me if im wrong.

THNX!

I think when they mean fresh, they mean veggies that haven't been frozen, canned, or altered in any way.

Some great ideas for what you can do with vegatables include: roasting and toasting. If you have access to a deep frier, maybe for variety you might want to try and FLASH fry your veggies, which I hear is way healthier than normal frying. There are so many things you can do to them, you shouldn't disparage. I used to hate broccoli, and I think I still do, but somehow I'm eating it.

Whatever:)

Personally, I don't think eating veggies "fresh" or out of a can makes a huge difference. I used to open a can of Italian Stewed tomatoes and either eat them straight out of the can, or take some chicken broth and blend it to make tomato soup. It's the best!!

Don't forget to season with garlic!

yah fresh means you go get them over in the salad area at the grocery store ....

now you can either eat them raw after you rinse them off

or

you can put them in a bag of water and steam them when they boil they are done.

Seven is right. Many so called 'fresh' veggies have been knocking around a while before you get to eat them.

Easiest and surest is to go for frozen, have lots of different veggies in the freezer.

Either steam them, microwave them or put them in stews.

Canned veggies are the worst option, they have usually been boiled to death or soaked in brine.

I hate gardening, but the idea of going in the garden, twisting a carrot out of the ground and eating it does sound appealing
:)

I grew up with a rather large garden. Peas, carrots, beats, radishes, string and wax beans, corn, apples, saskatooins, strawberries, cantelope, raspberries, potatoes, tomatoes, brocoli, cauliflower; all fresh, all the time. Cheap too, as well as a possible source of income for U-pick operations, and farmers markets.

Thanks for reminding me! I've been meaning to go to the farmers market here in town now for the last few weeks to pick up artichokes... boiled... I'm outta here to get them before I forget again!

RE the thread; fresh is best.
