The role of cannabis currently plays in psychotherapeutic practice is very complex. Many patients feel stigmatized enough just because of their illness and fear that taking cannabis could only increase this stigmatization. However, everyone working in the health sector is obliged to protect their patients' private data and to refrain from evaluating their lifestyle. Conversely, it is highly recommended for patients to have an honest discussion about the use of cannabis before going into a session with a new therapist so that it is clear in advance what the parties' position on the plant is.

Therapy should always give you the opportunity to open yourself up to a health professional. Any therapist who is worth the money should at least understand what your relationship with cannabis looks like before making his judgment. Especially because cannabis is much safer than other drugs that patients sometimes resort to in emergency situations, psychotherapists would be well-advised not to generally condemn the herb.

what kind of psychological disease? Are we talking anxiety? People with the kind of anxiety that makes them feel stigmatized might feel a lot worse if they take cannabis since it tends to amplify self-reflection.
