It's my first day back at VCU, so it's about time to start pulling some dimes. I can't even take a leak without getting a number. I leave to go to the bathroom. On the way, I see a bum girl in the computer lab, so I instantly sit down a the monitor beside hers, chat her up for about five minutes, then I realize I gotta go back to class. So I get up and leave, and say, "Would it be alright if I call you?" (AFC slip, should have said something C&F, but I wasn't quick enough) She said, "I don't know if my boyfriend would want me to." Before this sight, I would have said something like, "That's ok, you don't have to give it to me." Instead I just said, "I wouldn't mind." Then I just looked at her. Without saying a word, she starts writing it down. I was too hype, so hype I forgot I had to go to the bathroom.

After class ended, I was walking talking to the best-looking girl in the class or whatever. I didn't get to talk long, but I got her name. I'll see her again at class at 2. Should I make an effort to sit beside her? That is assuming I don't meet a new girl in that class. So far I have one number. My goal is to have at least 3 by the end of the day.

If you'll sit beside her - what kind of challenge you will be for her?

I don't make an effort to sit next to a girl I've met in a lecture a few times. It makes it look like she's important to me. I arrive late and sit next to anyone I want. If it's female I talk to it, for practice. Occasionally it'll be a hot woman. :) If any of the girls I know is nearby I sometimes go and talk to them during the break.

Carbani, if you don't go and talk to them you'll be even more of a challenge! Or you could be the ultimate challenge guy by moving to Antarctica and never even see any girls...

You essentially upped your VALUE in her eyes by showing her that, if she wants you, she has to at times do things that you like to do. You are SOMETHING after all. You are NOT FREE. If she wants to hang with you, it's going to cost her something — time, effort, money.

I just got back to college today and some freshman chick was jockin me askin where all these buildings and things were. I directed her towards a clever invention called a map and continued walking towards the registration desk. Anyway she broke down and told me that finding her class was really secondary to talking to me. Needless to say I don't take freshman handouts and I gave her the I work just about all of my free time so you're better off going somewhere else. This is the first day of college and I'm turning cute freshmen down... Don't be like me I'm an idot.

Walden - I absolutely understand your point of view, but I still don't think that sitting next to a girl so quick is a good idea.
Of course - you can't be too much of a challenge, you have to walk to them and talk to them, but everything should be balanced. If you're always the one who comes to them, you're the one who sits beside them and you're the one who initiates kino - you're no challenge.

I've got a feeling that many people on this forum concentrated so much on approaching, talking and looking good that they forgot about the challenge factor.

A true DJ knows how to balance all those things. He knows when to sit beside girl, and when to not, when to go and chat with her, and when to wait for her to come to him. That's why I didn't tell Jay to not sit beside her, but asked him a question instead. I don't know him, I don't know the place he studies in, and I don't know IL of that girl. Perhaps he could pull this off in a way that he didn't look needy and that he'd still remain a challenge. If yes - he should've done that, but then - he wouldn't be asking us for an advice, would he?

Regards,
Carbani

Uni is so great!!! Most women will be glad to strike a convo with you if you initiate it first. 90% of men in college are AFCs or half AFCs which leaves all the smart and pretty gals for us!:D :D I agree challenge is VERY important. I had women sit near me in class using body language to 'test' me e.g. hair flicking and wearing provokative clothes.

Hey, I ended up not sitting beside her because I got there late and sat in the back. Anyway, I got her number after class. I only got two numbers. I went to Biology and a girl I was attracted to, so I walked up to her after class. I was about to number close when this grizzly dude walked up. I'll probably try to get it on Wednesday.

On sort of a different subject:

1. What does HB mean?

Do not be too easy. If you are too easy to get, she will not want you. If you are too easy to keep, she will lose interest in you. If you are too easy to control, she will not respect you.
