uni is a bltch

i had to repeat a year and its a fixed course (i.e. all studnets do the same classes) just like high school

so i'm stuck with people from the year level below me, who've already known each other for two years and formed rock solid social/friend circles

it is impossible to make any new friends

and all my old friends, who are now a year above me, have all moved away to their respective hospitals

i did start talking to this one dude, actually he started talking to me, and i couldn't stand the bugger

any ideas on making new friends in a new environment?

 Firstly, your not the first and not the last to fail a course of any magnitude.

You have a few options and ideas to go through in your mind.
1. If you dont like your new classmates take this as an ideal time to actually PASS the year first and then worry about your social friends in the class.
2. A year in a class with people, unless you act like a troll you will make new friends whether you like the people or not. Face your fears. Its clear your afraid of change and afraid to step out your comfort zone. Start speaking to the people.
a) you will feel more confident
b) you will meet more women
c) you will probably make new friends
d) you will feel at ease coming to class
3. Maybe failing is a good thing, you maybe will see who your true friends are? You say your friends gone to work now, well maybe you'll see if they keep in contact now or not.

Goodluck:up:

It's not so bad. I Think you're just making excuses for yourself. Does the class ever have events? If so, go to them. Find someone you think is cool and just talk to him bit by bit. It doesn't have to be anything big. B1tch about the workload now and then, or the assignments....then work small talk into something bigger slowly.

Patience and confidence. It is like you're hitting on a girl. Seriously. You need balls in both cases. Act more than think or else you'll convince yourself to sit there and do nothing.

Here's something i personally can give advice from, i've done it so many times. In the cafeteria, start sitting down and eating with random girls...just with "Mind if i sit here?" with a smirk/smile....99% of the time they will say yes. And hey, if u connect with them, u can hang out with them...if not, then u can say hi to each other around campus...and thus if u see them at the cafeteria again, eat with them again. Good Way to meet new people. Its terrifying as hell at first, as there are other people in the cafeteria...but in reality, people will think even more highly of u for having the balls to do it. Even the girls sitting down will give u respect.

Man, you're not stuck with just the people in your year. Meet people from outside your class.
