Two girls to Homecoming

Ok so here's the deal. Ive been friends with this one girl for a long time and really like her. I've got stuck in the semi-friend zone but its not ireversible and I have worked out she is waiting for me to make a move. We talked about going to homecoming but then I heard she was taking another guy, and then a day later she hinted I should take her. Ideas?

Anyway I prepared and got a back up, nice girl and all but I dont know her at all. I figure she is worth taking out and I would be more than happy to take her to homecoming but not much else e.x. dates and such.

Problem is that if I take this new girl to homecoming than the other girl im really trying to get will take it as I am not interested in dating her and then I will definitly be in the friend zone. So, what should I do?

If you talked to her about going to homecoming together, well then SHE THINKS YOUR INTERESTED. So if you take the other girl, this will make your girl jealous.

Who cares about who you bring to HOMECOMING. I mean your not just going to dance with your date the whole night are you?
